Better to be a smidge to high then to to low. Also, when you have to go to big ball mount drops like you have, use a forged mount. They will have 8k and higher ratings. I use a 12k.

The key to a proper set up trailer is the correct amount of tongue weight.
The angle is one key to this, but with a rear engine Porsche how far forward the *** heavy car is will dictate how much tongue weight you have
The heavier the tow vechclle is the more it can mask a improper set up
My advise is buy this http://www.sherline.com/lm.htm
Download their trailer towing guide
You will also find wiTh or without tires on the tire rack the car will need to be forward or reverse a few inches for proper set up

Thanks for that link. I haven't read it yet but looks like a lot of info there.
I think you guys are right - with wheels on the tire rack and a loaded tongue box, the weight might be just about right. Yesterday was a quick one day deal in 100+ degree temps - car went as is, no way I was going to bother changing wheels or anything else in that heat. Honestly, considering the heat...I was more excited to get out and tow with my new truck than drive on the track.

XD hitch upgrade
Check this out: http://www.inventivehitches.com/store/pc/cool_stuff.asp
Recommend the XD with 10" drop should have you fix up! That way if you decide to lift the truck you will be covered as fully adjustable.

It leveled out a wee bit, but still a little high in the front. As I mentioned, I did not travel with spare wheels or much gear in the tongue box, so that may drop the front end a bit too.
Didn't even notice the trailer was there with the Superduty! It really does make towing a completely different experience. Hopefully will get an enclosed over the next several months...just need to spend some time figuring out exactly what I want.

I have a/c on mine so at the track I always have a cool place to relax and get out of the sun.
