True, and just to be clear, these are the OE run flat Sport Cups developed for the ZR1.

it's fear like that coupled with threats from izzone and reter that I pawned my gold chain and left the Chevy store in tears.

Here is Mike Skeen in Matt Callahan's (930man) new Z06. It's built with aero, suspension, hp, etc.

Times about what the 3.8 cups run.

Lap times are 1:39 at Laguna and 1:50 at Sears driving tidy and conservative. I'm far from the fastest guy out there, and I'll play the age card (69 next week) so I know the car is capable of a lot more, even though it is an early one. Judging by the Z06 group I run with they are very very reliable, and other than routine maintenance my car has had no issues at all.

Wow Gary, good to hear an earlier Z06 holding up for track duty after all these years. Gunning for your best track time is what makes these things call DE fun and 1:39 is very good at LS. I could only manage 1:40 with my GT3 RS but my Z06 is a whole different story. 1:40 and 1:39 are like warm up laps in traffic.

lol. It does get lonely being one of the few fast cars on the track. My friend Gordon just got some new shoes with R6 so we are going to have some fun at LS and Reno Fernley.

Take a look at the difference in speed at Laguna Seca between a high and low hp car. LS really reward cars with high torque because of the elevation changes. The video below are from Martin's S2000 whom does 1:59 at Thunderhill and could only manage 1:45 at LS. Go to 9:00 in the video

Here is another one. Both the driver and passenger in the S2000 throw up their arms when Gordon and I blew pass them . Go to 3:00 in the video

Mmm I think I hear a little whine. Not bad for a street car.

Street 996gt3 on kuhmo v710's with motons at ls can do 1:36:8. An 07 rs with same specs should be 1- 1.5 seconds faster with same driver. mike

Mike,

You need to add the cost of your Ohlins to the cost of your mods.

How are the new springs working out for you?

Yes. Add another $5700 for Ohlins and so far so good. Still in testing phase

I don't think comparing lap times is really quite right. The 997 Cup is such a demanding machine that a pretty good driver even after a year of pounding around in the car on track days is still probably 3-5s off the pace of the car - minimum.
