i just think it would make sense to put LCAs and GT3 top mounts first - it would open up options for wider rims for you, there is little reason imho to replace current wheels to smaller 18" diameter in same width sizes - what tires will you put on them? selection is not very good there now. go with 10"/12" 18" rims, that will make a huge difference. our cars are all about grip and much less about motor. what stock gt3 car gains on a straight it all looses in the corner compared to my car. and it is fun.

The GTS uses different uprights than the Cayman and GT2/GT3/RS.
I know they would fit my Cayman based on measurements (if they were 5 lug versions), but the GTS is an unique animal on its own.
Great support from you as always. Thanks.

i will try next time 275/315 nt01 tires on my car - as i heard now 3 times (including one today) of people runing 245/315 on 997 cars. 245 and 275 have same height so it should also work.

Paul I 275 on 10" rims will not fit. For me to change out coil over is another $4-5k...got going to do that.

Damon I have a lead on a used set of Forgelines that I'm trying to see if they will work. Orbit is sending 1 front to see if it fits.
I super appreciate your offer....if you want to send me one of the Challenge 9x18 et47 wheels I will check and see if it fits also. I'll take car of it, no mounting of tires, no scratches, I can give you my credit card for collateral.

Here's a link to a useful wheel offset Calculator/comparator.

My Stock is 8.5" wide et56
New wheel is 9" wide et47 which is the GT3RS front offset
According to this offset calculator I will have:
3mm more inner clearance
15mm more to the outside.
I think this is right on the edge of fitting...could work or may not...I will know this weekend since Damon at Tire Rack just called me and is sending a wheel out and I will have it on Thursday with a 255/35/18 fitted on it to be sure it doesn't rub the inner fender liner when the wheel is turned.
Also Orbit is supposed to send me a Forgeline wheel over that a friend of mine is selling. The offset is not exactly known so I will see if it fits to and figure out the offset.
Anyway, I will take pics and post so that those with GT3 Turbo S and GTS and Carrera S will know for sure what fits and what doesn't.

Mike,
We have run 9.0 et44 without issue on some 987 and 997 cars... My suspiscion is that you will be fine with those camber numbers... We even ran a 5mm spacer on one 987. Mind you, the tire was a 245.

Here is the bottom line, the 18x9 ET 47 wheels will fit your GTS. The GT3 RS has the same fenders are a regular GT3 and even a base Carrera. The fender extension is just a tacked on piece to help project from rock damage and does not actually provide any additional wheel clearance.

Thanks Nick Wong...do far you are about the only guy that understands why I question fitment.
It's not the inner parts of the suspension I'm worried about its if the wheel sticks out farther than the fender and if there is any rub on the fender and inner liner. Thanks for the pics!
