Because they think wider tire = faster lap times...but then Eduardo the Flyin Brazilian shows up on skinny tires in hot weather and goes flat out with lap times.

What offsets are you running?

I'll just wait for 991. I would lose my *** in $$ if I sold my car and bought a RS. Europe wont give any more money to Greece.

+1. Good coaching is just about always a better way to spend money. I put wider tires on the Cayman (from 265 up to 295 in the rear) and dropped lap times a little. I traded in the Cayman as a track car and moved to GT3...dropped lap times a little more. I got good coaching, and learned to use 95% of my grip instead of 85%, and dropped lap times a lot. Once I learn to use 99% of my grip, then I will start to modify the car again......

P.S. Learning to use all your grip works on every single car you drive. Wider tires only work on one car....

My question has nothing to do with going faster. My stash of 305 RA1's is ending soon, and bought a new stash of 335. Would prefer to balance the added rear rubber with a 265/275 front tire. 335's coupled with 245 front tends to push.

Yes, and RA1 275 are still produced, 245 are not.
With a little more runner hitting the road you should be a little faster.

I think with a bit more front tires i can go a bit more aggressive on the LSD.
Say 10% more front tires is 10% more LSD lockup. maybe a bit less need to go full soft on the front bar..

Who knows if it really makes a difference. If it was only about speed we's all run skinny slicks.

You don't need to worry....you need these tires and you are good to go

The Greek, the 275/35R18 Nitto or RA1 will not fit with your standard 2010 GT3 suspension. The uprights add more track than what we have in the 987 and 997 standard cars. I run a 285 A6 Hoosier in the front of the Cayman with no rolling fenders, but my uprights have a shorter distance from left-to-right edge, same uprights used in the Carrera and Carrera S. On the GT3 they won't fit.

However, if you get 18x9 wheels and add 12mm on offset (0.5" reduction on back spacing), then use a custom camber plate and push the strut towers all the way in, you will be fine. Typically I resolve these needs with spacers, but CL wheels cannot use spacers.

At the back, the 335 fits, but you need to roll fenders, bend a lip where the fender meets the bumper, and remove the fender liner. When removing the fender liner, trim down the screws exposed in the body as you could damage your tires.

Don't sell your GT3 for a GT3 RS.

Personally, for track use, I would run 245/335, then balance the car with sway bars, our local tracks penalize drag, we don't have Road atlanta or Roebling where downforce is super helpful, here we need a sleek car.

For autoX I would tell you go biggest front that fits, for track no so much.

A coach will make you much faster and safer than wider tires. Do it, you won't regret.

I run ccw c10 rims in standard gt3 nb offsets. 9" front and 12" rear.
Best approach is to call CCW and speak with them. Rad says 10" rim also fits but I never saw anybody else who managed that trick. CCW imho has 9.5" front that fits standard GT3 car - ask them. 9.5" will be very good for 275/265.

No they don't push with different tire. They push with 'wrong' different setup. Your car is setup for ONE set of tires.

The car has to be setup per a specific tire (brand/compound/size). Run whatever tire you like and THEN setup the car to those exact tires.

The Greek would get dangerously fast with a coach instead of just dangerous...
Do it!

Funny stuff, Porsche puts adjustable anti-sway bars and people have no clue what there are for.

I hope the 991 GT3 comes with automatically controlled anti-sway bars, so people can take advantage of the dynamic adjustments controlled by the computers and go faster in the DE Cup.

Only way to tune 245/335 is to make 335 tire grip like a 305 tire as no one can make 245 grip like a 275.
