I liked the 996's. Especially the turbos obviously. Mine was a replica 40th anniversary edition/c4s though. The door cat just happened to be a turbo. Don't listen to all the misinformation out there.
996 to 997 front end is an easy conversion. This is making me think.... Scoop a 6 gt2, boost the fawk out of, blow by you and Randy doing 170 on the back straight.

The M&M exhaust is a must have.
No drone. At 2000-2200 if you apply a lot of throttle and you try to create drone, you might think it starts to sound like drone, but it just a dark sound. I dont know if it is in my head, but I would swear it picks up revs sommother from 1500-2300 then before.
Overall louder then just the side pipes, but a nice loud, nice dark sound.
I drove home between 60-90MPH on blue tooth on the phone the whole way, spoke to a customer, made him pay for my exhaust, no problem!
What I did not realize is that drone is more then sound, it's like the car drives on softer tires now. Much nicer, it was ratteling the whole car appearently. The exhaust looks like jewelery:

Spendy but absolutely worth it. I love it, I should have gotten them right away.

The rear view mirror I think shakes less with this exhaust and a nice open rear view. and I think it fits the car very well. I was expecting it to look a bit goofy, but to me it looks like it belongs:

And I have my 3# NACA brake ducts back!
We will test brake temps in October at Sebring and measure the difference with them taped shut and open to see how much difference there is. I will keep you posted:
