I use Griot's wheel cleaner with their little foam mitt on one hand and their wheel cleaning tool in the other. I can clean a wheel nicely in 5 minutes.

R3 is the new top shelf product. As ever with paint -- let the chemical do the work according to instructions and consider pro tips and tricks at the detailer sites, but avoid mechanical work until it is a last resort only.

I only clean wheels when they are off the car. Way too tedious otherwise.

As far as Rejex, I suppose applying it diligently helps later with the cleaning process, but honestly I have not noticed significant gains, and waxing wheels is so super tedious I just gave up. Maybe I'll keep it up for street wheels, but for track, forget it.

Ive vever washed my track wheels

Just wipe rubber off with a cloth

The black has started to turn purple, so they look bad anyways

There are some wheel "protection" sprays now. I use on the SUVs. Works really well, lasts through a couple of cursory washings.

Semsolv is available at the massmarket auto parts stores and works without abrasion or hard rubbing.

This stuff works extremely well.

I spent some time with it the other day removing tire marks off my white car using a microfiber towel.

Appears to be a synergistic blend of surfactants and solvents that remove the rubber. Has some lubricity as well.

Removed bug jerky easily too.

Mild enough not to harm paint or my Premier Clear Bra if you soak for up to 2 min. Far superior to spendy Premier orange liquid.

Also had some positive effect on removal of brake dust particles embedded in my painted rims. That's another project though.

Regards,

Josh

Dri Wash N Guard. Best stuff I've found, won't harm the paint, takes tire marks right off, and leaves a layer of protection.

Do you apply it before the track so that rubber doesn't stick or use it to remove the marks after? Works on clear-bra, too?

I use Simple Green on paint and clear bra to take off rubber marks. Works great and does not scratch. On wheels I like P21S wheel cleaner. Spray on, let set for a minute (and if super dirty rub with a wheel brush for a moment) and then hose off clean. Glad to hear the tip on Mothers R3 and will give it a try.

Has anyone tried BDR, Brake Dust Repellent? www.brakedustrepellent.com
