but....today i wouldnt do it...it is already a risky sport,, buy a new tire.... it's like having sex without a condom(before marriage ) not worth it!

Bad rear? If worn more than 40% my rule of thumb is replace both for the diff's sake. If less than that, when you get the new tire mounted check actual rollout vs. other tire.

I once put street pads in the Fiat and survived the wall at t13 in sebring.

I once installed a patched tire and survived a 110 mph blowout totalled a 325i.

I once put a set of cracked turbo twist porsche 996 turbo and survived a day at pocono north.

So, stock pads on cracked wheels and patched tires is perfectly fine, I survived.

FYI, a Nitto is a full tread, relatively thick tire. A Hoosier is very very thin. Never ever ever patch or plug a Hoosier.

I bet the $1 I won to the Slow911 that DD will be on patched hoohoos this weekend, and loose coolant fittings, and glyco anti-freeze.

So, i will be cautious of Yellow flags and Yellow cars...

Stop tracking the car.

Seriously, never ever repair a track tire. Toss it out even if you THINK it might be faulty.
Where are you getting $300 rears?!?!

Exactly. If you've actually seen the inside of this tire you'll realize that.

Couldn't. Wouldn't. Shouldn't.

I haven't bought hoos in years just a guess. Plus once you've run them once.....they are certainly no more than a 100 tire!

I quoted your post, in case you make a mess at the T17 wall, as a friendly reminder to others, just in case.

I personally dispose of track tires with any puncture, too much risk. I don't mess with wheels, I don't mess with tires, I don't mess with brakes.
I'm 2:23's on cheater tires. Is that too fast for plugs?

It's more like $50k at this point, tomotoe tamatoe I'm not going to stop tracking the car.... Just asking a question if it'll work or not. Its not about the money, I just don't want to throw out a relatively new hoosier if I don't have to.

When my tire went flat I did not ball up my car either.
I picked up a screw at sebring about 4 years ago. Tire went flat. I spun threw 5. I guess I'm answering my own question

Not nice betting on my demise this weekend Sounds like you have terrible luck at the track. Maybe we should be steering clear of you Already had my coolant line go pop. I'm hoping with the law of averages that was my "one".

The rotors are fine. The one legged mechanic that worked on the car is suspect though

Agreed. That would be a good deal.

Yes, I'm going to reinstall it in your rear tire
