A prelude to my dream car ...

If nothing else, start tracking NOW. There are very few things I regret in life. Not tracking a car sooner is one of them. The other is wasting time on other cars when what I really wanted was a GT3 in the first place. Would have saved me a lot of time, headaches and money.
If you feel the path of patience will make you happier, follow it. Rarely have I heard people (especially on this forum) say "boy am I glad I waited a few years to get me one of these!"

Join the club! Take your C4S out to a few DE's and get a feel for it. Nothing compares to a GT3 of any sort. Life is short, you just need to do it! This coming from someone who just sold his 997.2 GT3 and bought a 997.2 RS to use for a few months.

Track now in your track car
Keep the cayenne because you will buy an open trailer first
Sell the c4s and the other one
Add proceeds of sale to savings/down payment
Buy RS with track mods done
Buy open alum trailer
Sell track air cooled track car
Buy track wheels
Sell alum trailer and cayenne
Buy truck and enclosed trailer
See you at ORP support group meetings where this lunacy all starts to make perfect sense

Thank you for all the responses. Mostly what I expected from the hard core 997 GT3/RS fans/fanatics. Believe me I have contemplated selling the C4S on numerous occasions:

But I have enjoyed it as a daily driver putting about 15,000 miles on it every year:

I have enjoyed my Porsches in a different way in the last three years:
I have enjoyed detailing them, saran wrapping them ... (see post # 41 on this thread)

Now I am ready to unroof a whole new side of P-car ownership, ie HPDE and tracking. This '76 coupe weighs 2300 lbs and the motor being 265 bhp lends to an incredible power to weight ratio. It in my opinion would be the perfect way to get my feet wet before the RS ownership. But everyone here feels otherwise. Hmm... not even one on my side !! And yes guys life is short. Thats why I now own 4 Porsches. One DD, one family hauler, one pristine all original air-cooled original 911 and now a track car. You guys still feel I am missing the point right ??
Yes I could sell my fully wrapped C4S and buy a RS but something tells me that I would miss a 911 when I do my weekly 300 mile commute on the cayenne (as great an SUV it is especially with PASM, PDCC, PTV). I was close to trading it for a GTS, I am so glad that I did not do it, coz the RS is where my heart is.

Lots of people have helpful opinions but IMO the thing to do now with what you currently own I'd to track your recent black beauty and learn to drive it so you feel comfortable. I hope you can join your other local buddies for the 7/7 DE event we talked about. Spend some free time locally with your instructor at PRI both with the skills component as well as track time

Why start with an old rusty razor when you can have a new electric shaver?
