He's already practically engaged again. He's like a monkey. Can't let go of one branch till he has another in his hand. Word on the street is that she is running the show.

Nizer: Regarding your question ... try and get answers from GMG. Their supposed crankshaft is some super duper secret. Have they produced a 4.0L yet? When I called them about such a build they spoke to me like I was an idiot and talked down to me, even with a slant if I could even afford this. WTF!

No no no!
You misread my comment. Sorry I didn't explain better.
Nothing on this car has anything to do with GMG.
What I was referring to was, they have their "secret" crankshaft builder and Champion doesn't want to divulge either some of their internal "stuff".
I have a friend and colleague whose RS is at GMG for the 4.0L build and is patiently waiting for completion. I wish him the best and hopefully we can get the two RS's on the track together

mdrums: The secret is that the other "darling tuners" do a lot of talking but haven't put out $h!t. To all the tuners that you guys, "wet your shorts over", just put one out. Really just put one out. Really just do it !!!

I'd rather have Champion do a build like what you are doing being how they are tied into Porsche and their past experience. GMG can set up a car for racing with off the shelf parts for suspension, gut street car for club racing, buy a GT3R and race and maintain it for SCCA World Challenge, or ALMS Patron Series but I don't think they have any past experience in tearing into a Porsche engine or redesigning a Porsche engine...I don't know...you?

My 996 GT3 (rated at 380Hp) did 366 whp on a Dynojet, and my 997.1 GT3 RS did 382 whp with a unhealthy engine (oil leaking crankcase).
You have a very weak 997.1 GT3 RS, so your new 4.2 might end up being less powerful than a stock 4.0RS, so bad, hopefully you can make 425 whp so you can keep up with Gold DE Cup drovers.

Geez all I can say is you're a very luck man. Everything works your way. Great I'm happy for you, God bless you.
Me? Well I'm just a lowlife scum sucking dog. Been a grunt all my life so nothing changes.
And those categories, hilarious.

I believe the dyno sheet/graph was posted early in the thread if not can put it up. The RS was tested on a Dynojet. Bone stock made 360 to 365 rwhp and with M&M exhaust 396.
We'll see what the near future shows.

Ranger,
We should pick a night at PBIR and get a 3.6RS 4.0RS, 3.9 Sharky, stock 3.8RS together.
Or maybe next Saturday at Homestead.
This weekend I drove 4.0 and 3.8 back to back and that is really what you want to do to feel the power and driveability me thinks!
If we grab someones I phone with Harry's laptimer we could see different laptimes, but the laptimes are less relevant due to car setup, tires etc.
Between yourself, Rob, Juan Porro, Erik, Eddie and I we have some pretty good test pilots to share our test drive.

She's alive!!! Tom at Champion was kind enough to film a little bit of the engine break-in today for me. Enjoy!
