Speaking on the great for the CL's...what are you guys using? I had a tube of Castrol from the dealer that is about done. I hate wiping this junk on with my finger and I use to have a small silver bottle or anti-seeze that the cap has a small brush on it. Is any anti-seeze OK?????

Easy now, I have only owned the car three months, you guys have like a year plus head start on me. This wasn't too much longer than my usual with lugs. I like to take my time, especially since rushing with CL's can be expensive.

I don't think you can use any old antiseeze Mike... It has to be high temp stable...i believe that Castrol Optimoly they rip us off with is good for about 1000oC... There must be other products out there, probably need to research them but for me, i'll be sticking to the crap Porsche supply for now....

You need rubber gloves! Still gets all over everything...but not your fingers.

Yeah I tried those rubber doctor gloves...I sweat a lot...it's hot hot hot in my garage and those gloves fill up with sweat and end up ripping up. I'll try them again though.

Gotcha. Just dont take em off once you get them on. Second pair impossible to get on moist hands.

I gave up on the gloves... I just smear them all in one big hit, clean myself up with the turps and then slap them on....

No caps. easier to make sure locks engaged and no flying parts.

Mike lube up with those purple lab gloves--less latex and they breathe.

That trucker tool is great to speed up

I think I have the wrong gloves...I need what you call purple lab gloves. Where do you get them?

I got the car ready for Sebring last night and put on my white rubber gloves and after 30min couldn't stand it anymore. They were full of sweat and my fingers looked like I'd been in the pool all day.

I put a pair of gloves on and grease the CL, clean it up and pull off the gloves and put the wheel on. I use a pair per wheel or else I have the same problem. They are pretty cheap at Harbor Freight so I don't mind throwing them out so quickly.

So I have been reading this thread from the start--deciding what to do, and forgot about it for a track day today--that is until I was checking my tire pressure after the first heat, and f#%k -- where is the rear driver's side dust cap? After 20 or so track days, maybe 100 heats total, I have never lost one--until I did. So I took the others off, and boom--each popped and flew about three feet. So, now I will drill a tiny hole or maybe just leave them off.

Has anyone bought a set because they lost one, and maybe want to sell them as singles?
