Default BF Goodrich R1 - size opinions please

I am taking advantage of tire racks sale on R1s.

For my RS, they have 335/30/18 rear. Front is either 245/40/18 or 265/35/18. I run -3 camber front, stock ride height.

I don't know which size is best for front.

if the fit...I think they will...265 would be what I'd get.

265/35R18 is the best fit.

I ran 265/35R19 (taller) in my 997.1 GT3 RS with 9" wheels and 8.5" wheels. No changes to the body or rolling fenders.

I don't know if the R1 fits, as I haven't measured it.

BFG R1's run very wide. I ran 265's on my M3 on a 9" wheel and they were as wide as 275 toyo RA-1's

Thanks for the input guys. Like I told DRL, I have sold the 265's in 19 on OEM wheels before with about 50% luck with rubbing. It did, but barely. Camber and offset are critical. The section width as listed for the 265 18" BFG is only .1" wider than the 19" R6 is. Tough call, but with 3+ degrees camber (a lot!!) , they should be OK.

drl, glad I could point out the R1 to you on the other thread. A guy that runs at Sebring with me in a 996 GT3 loves them and said for the price they are really good. So who knows as different people like different tires but for de's why not ya know.

They only seem like they are about $200 per set less then R6's. I had a friend try them, he like Hoosiers better.

Damon, those Toyo Proxes RA1 in 275/35ZR18 - is it a new batch of tires made this year or an old one from 2007?

Are they telling anything about making 335 tires again in 18" sizes?

I ran a set of 265 and 335 on my car. They were a little faster than a R6.

Can I get a confirmation that R1 265/35/R18 will work on a .2 RS? Running -2.5 in front. I suspect that it will given that several folks confirm that R6s fit.
