Default Am I okay with these Hoosier sizes?

I've searched and haven't found a definitive answer, so just want to double check prior to pulling the trigger.

I'm looking to go to 18" track wheels on my '11 GT3. I'd like Hoosier R6s. With my 19's I ran 235/35 front and 315/30 rear.

I would like to run 255/35 front and 315/30 rear on my new 18" wheels. Rad has mentioned on a previous thread that this fitment is okay.

I assume this will not cause any issues with rubbing (front) or ABS issues. Opinions please. Thanks in advance.

If this has been answered before, please direct me to the appropriate thread.

On 18", you're fine with 255/35 and 315/30 R18. Straight fit on 9"/12" x 18" wheels.

Improved gearing, and much more grip. The 255 is actually pretty wide, and so is the 315 on 18".

The 255 rubbed on the front of my .2 rs. My car is lowered to the euro ride height and that may add to that issue

My stock 996 GT3 235/40R18 Michelin PS2 rubbed on the front. Rub depends on who and how the car was aligned and lowered.

Very likely, somebody added shims to your LCA, and did not use the upper strut inboard.

A few friends of mine are running the 1" wider 285/30R18 but some minor tricks are required, no rubbing either: 996 or 997.

So are you saying that putting 255s on the front may need a new alignment? My goal is -3 front and -2.5 rear camber, 8 caster, neutral toe in front, and 0.2-0.25 degrees (14-15 minutes) toe in at rear on each side (0.4-0.5 total toe in).

Perfect alignment, just make sure the strut tops are maxed-out all the way in for maximum negative camber, if you need anything additional to reach -3.0 degrees, add camber shims, and do not lower the front more than 10mm from stock ride height (unless you have replaced the springs with stiffer units and have the shocks adjusted to those new springs).

Rear sway bar full stiff, front sway bar in the middle.

There is no such thing as "Euro ride height"!

Other than this, Rad has you covered.

FWIW I like the 255/35 315/30 combo and have no rubbing (3deg C front) on a 6..

for regular 2010/2011 GT3 (not RS):
Hooiser R6 on 18" rims
Front - 245/35-18
Rear 315/30 – 18

I have been running these for 2 years.

What size works best for RS? I have been running 19s all year but plan to buy 18s soon.

Just installed forgeline 1 piece 18" wheels with 255/35 and 335/30 R6's on .2RS. The fronts rub slightly at full lock.

I can't decide between those wheels (in slilver) vs. Damon's new OZs (only in black). I really want the Forgeline but they are double the cost.

Are you going to continue buying the 255 or drop down in size? I would think the rubbing would not be an issue if its only at full lock.

I'm very happy with the quality of the Forgelines. Jeff at Pacific Western did a great job for me. I've git a pair of the 245's as well so I'm planning to run them back to back and see how they perform. I'll report back later this month.
