Any 4.0's for sale?
#1008
I was one of those bidding against you.
Does anyone know if this is the only 4.0 on the market right now?
I'm primarily looking for .2 3.8s, but I've been considering stretching for a 4.0. Have all of these been trading in the secondary market for over MSRP or have any been selling for under $200k / original list?

Ah, I thought it may have been something like that. I never thought of garage space as such a luxury until I moved to SF. Now I drool over it as much as the cars that go in them

I don't want to read a 70 page thread but if no one has seen this maybe it'll help someone out. I know Bernie the dealer and he's an alright fella

No, but I'm leaning pretty hard on Nick Wong to try a GT2 :-)
I'd like to try a GT2RS or a well setup GT2..
He's about to block my e-mails LOL.
I have a few requests in to try and sucker fellow DE drivers with a GT2RS into letting me have a go..Nothing organized yet..

I've had (generous) offers to drive the GT2 RS, but I have it on a list including the Carrera GT -- "Forbidden fruit." After all, you know you're going to like it, but then what? Buy a $400K Carrera GT and track it? That's just more agony. Better to have never loved than to have loved and lost...

Had a ride in the 4.0, power definite difference vs 3.8, but what really stood out was the front end grip and turn in, were astounding!
That being said GT2 is pretty good.
Same gentleman with ZR 1 mentioned 270 kph on the backstraight at Mosport.

It's very similar.
I've driven a 4.0 and it feels identical to a 3.8, just slightly more powerful but barely noticable to me and just a little more of the same. I only really noticed it when I got back in the 3.8 that it was less torguey..
I'm sure a stock GT2 is lesser then a 3.8RS in terms of handeling.
I've never driven a boost car on track, so I have to find out how I like a boosted RS, or a well setup GT2.

I'm at the crossroads of finding "the next one" and that could be all kinds of cars since Porsche doesn't have anything on offer in the showroom -- at least for the next year or three.
I certainly have the GT2RS or a 997.2 GT2 on the short list. I wish it were an electronic market, where I could just put in my bid for a GT2 rather than shopping around and encountering "for private sale" which turns out to be, "parasite flipper or broker-dealer" nine times out of ten.
Same for the Carrera GT. If I'm going to have a less "***** out" track car (than a 3.8 RS, which I'm prepared to drive as close to my limits as I dare for the given circumstances) then I certainly have the Carrera GT on my bucket list of cars to own and learn to drive. Safely.
Then there's a laundry list of cars on the Forbidden Fruit. Sure, I'd like to drive a 458, or 12C, but I wouldn't want to be tempted into owning them, let alone tracking -- $300K at risk of total loss when some bozo in a junker loses his brakes and takes me out in a fender bender that almost invariably means a total write-off in a Carrera GT? -- it's just not my bag, baby.
I think you have your game plan sorted out and I if I'm guessing correctly, you'll be very happy and hopefully settle down and stop spending on one car after the next for a good, long while. At least, that's my plan. : )

Stock GT2 far less to a 3.8RS that's for sure, especially given the weight differential overall, plus weight bias towards the rear. Fortunately we have qualified people to deal with those issues. When the power comes on,
