Default 5000 mi Roadtrip

Went from LA to Birmingham then to IL and back home via Route 36 to 70.

The nav system took me on some interesting roads to IL.

Route 36 was the old Pony Express route and if you laid a yard stick down on a map its that straight. 1/3 divided 4 lane. 2/3 undivided 2 lane. 65mph speed limit but when you go thru a town the speed limit drops to as low as 20.

The woman is.. a new sculpture at Barber

Can't say enough good words for the sport seats! They are great on a long journey.

Total length of trip was 5,004 mi. The last stint was Grand Junction, CO to LA a distance of 803mi and a drive time of 11'30".

I'll drive my car anywhere

Take your car for a drive, she will love you for it!

Fantastic, we were at Barber last weekend

Awesome trip! Had I known that Goldcrest would take care of us, I'd happily would have driven my car there instead of trailering it.
What tires did you have?

Perhaps next year Oloa....

Impressive MJones. damn impressive.

Am curious as to what tires you're running....can't imagine Sport Cups in snow being any fun. (Edit: already asked and answered)

What's the story behind the story? Why did you drive the GT3 across the country?

(Besides for the pleasure of it!)

after looking at the pictures I was inspired to suggest that you change your handle to Forrest.

"That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little drive. So I drove to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd drive to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just drive across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I drove this far, maybe I'd just drive across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I drove clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I drove clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going. That- that's about it."

Awesome trip MJones !!!

The best road trip I have taken was back in September 2009. Los Angeles to Lincoln, NE and back to L.A. using HWY 15 and HWY 70. Best roads I have ever driven in one trip, with the best ever Daily Driver.

I arrived to Lincoln to run my 4 months old 2009 Fiat at the SCCA Solo Nationals, the Fiat went on a Transport days before.

I think the only better experience must be "One Lap of America".
