I mean, thanks for pointing it out, but HANS in a street car with airbags is just a bonus, airbags should still deploy in case of a crash.

I usually wear it but this particular track has an awful exit from the pits and you can't move your head enough (with HANS on), to be able to see any approaching vehicles.

You can say that if you hit the wall hard. But if you wear a 6pt harness and hit the wall in 10km/h you will get massive neck damage. Since your body will not
move, but your head will. And your face will not be close to the airbag eather, unless you are very short person.

Nah, every harness stretches upon impact, that's why you need to replace it in case of a hard crash. Also, the standard 3-point safety belt has a tensioner device with an explosive which tightens the belt in case of a crash.

If you look at some crash test videos you'll see how much the airbag actually inflates + newer cars have seat position sensors on the rails so that a small or a tall person are both safe (since they're obviously further/closer to the steering wheel).

PS: Nice GT3 and awesome driving!

A few clips of my 997.2 RS on some of our European circuits:

Silverstone, England:

Spa Francorchamps, Belgium:

Portimao, Portugal (Autódromo do Algarve):

...and this was a pretty cool experience - driving Portimao at night!

Man, this is so good! I absolutely love your spec, probably my fav 7.2 RS colour combo!

PS: what app are you using for the car data (throttle, rpm, brakes, etc)?

Thank you. My fav combo too...and hence it took a while to find one with all the main options.

The data is all coming from a Racelogic Vbox Lite unit with an induction tap into the car's CANbus for revs, pedals, steering angle, etc. In most of the videos I have cropped the data portion of the vbox video file in a corner of the screen. In the Portimao data time video I have used RaceRender to render the vbox data stream.

Is the 996 in Guards Red? Looks sooo good! That's an RS wing as well, right?

Thanks. Yes, guards red. My other favourite colour

Yes, that’s is an RS wing. Other mods on the 996 are:
- Nitron 3 way dampers
- 997RS shifter
- 964RS single mass flywheel
- 997RS 4.0 clutch
- Motorsport diff
- RSS toe steer kit
- Cup steering wheel
- Girodisc brakes / RS29 pads
- BBS LM rims
- std engine, gearbox, exhaust.

If I do anything else then next mod will be a gearbox final drive

Chasing a couple of 981 GT4s on Grobnik (track in Croatia) earlier this week.

Overall, I'm not sure the best lap they managed, but I think they were running 1:42-1:41 and my best lap was 1:40, but not during the chase.

Cool

is there really something nicer than taking your good old "analogue" 997.2 GT3 RS for a chilly lap on the Nurburgring Nordschleife on a sunday afternoon?
