tools needed:

- Torx T45 (male)
- plastic putty spreader (to safely remove the black rubber plugs covering the bolts)
- level with adjustable angle measure

approx 10 mins of your valuable time!

Thanks for all the feedback. Wasn't sure if I was going to create too much drag but sounds like not. What does the max angle measure in at?

Note if you are fighting understeer more wing can make it worse. Definitely add the cup splitter if you need front downforce. Another measure I have with wing changes is amount of traction control off of corners, with more wing you will definitely feel less TC come into play.]

Does the Cup splitter make that noticeable of a difference?
Car feels pretty neutral to me (for a 911). I'm really happy with my latest alignment.

It makes a difference, last weekend my car washed out a bit more in T1 compared to the OEM splitter.
Not a big difference, but you can notice it. The CUP splitter is much softer then the OEM, so it is a good investment either way.

Is it a straight bolt on to a 997.2 of will I have to drill or use brackets or something?

when you say "washed out" you mean there was more understeer with the cup splitter vs OEM??? - implying less DF???

the cup splitter is a direct replacement for the NB & RS parts with one exception, both of the latter have holes drilled in them at either end so that they screw to the underside of the car just in front of the wheel well, securing the splitter to the wheel well liner, underside liners and the front bumper. This is not how the cup splitter attaches, but it should be simple to drill the appropriate hole.

Also note the cup splitter is wider than the oem so it will "stick out" at either side in front of the wheel well, as noted elsewhere in the forum, on a cup car there are a couple of "gurneys" that "mate" with this, attached to the inner lip of the wheel well, extending up from the splitter, tapering to meet the bumper around the side marker. Orbit apparently have the parts, which may require drilling in order to attach

I'm confused, or stupid, or both, I would expect the cup splitter to generate MORE downforce than the OEM NB or RS, thus increasing front grip (relatively) and inducing less understeer as a result, not more understeer ... because more grip increases slip angle, not decreases???

While this is a dedicated track car for me, it is not trailered and is street driven to/from the track. Is the Cup spoiler practical in this situation? I do have the front end lifting system. Thanks.
