Default Angle of Attack Recommendations (997.2 GT3)

The angle of attack on my wing is currently -7.5 degrees. I have a 997.2 GT3 and I'm looking for recommendations for Road Course settings. I am not going to change this from track to track, so I'm looking for a setting that is versatile. I primarily drive at Watkins Glen and NJMP.

Thanks for any help.

Exactly max wing, add a 2nd Gurney rear and CUP lip in front..
Rake might have something to do with downforce so I maintain factory rake.

p.s
only downside of max wing is rear visibility on the road...

I tested my 996 GT3 with wing at stock position, and wing at 8 degrees at Watkins Glen. I lost 3 mph prior to the bus stop with the max wing, but the car felt planted through T2-T3-T4 and it felt faster around the track.

I would go max wing for Watkins Glen.

NJMP, no idea, haven't been there.

Yep, spot on! Most folks ;have the fear that they will lose straightaway speed. And while this may be a factor at Daytona, at most other tracks the 3mph you lost prior to the Bus Stop is an excellent trade-off for picking up 5-10 mph in many of the faster corners. And IMO the same holds on either config of NJMP, which are both much mor etechnical than the Glen.

I always thought that the 8 setting on the 996 was considered the "wet" position... but I guess with the .2 4.0 they exceeded that ... I used to run full on my 6.1 and while losing some vmax it planted the rear better

Nope. Worst downside is drag.

The holy grail of race car aerodynamics is: increased down force with a low/zero drag penalty.

In the book "speed secrets, professional race driving techniques" it says "it's very rare that taking off wing results in faster lap tomes". I run 10 deg on my 997.2 NB and I can't see a darn thing in the mirror. It feels planted though.

997.2 GT3 tested at home track with wing at highest angle vs stock was around 1.5 seconds faster

NICE!!!

time to step into the garage I think!

I still have a hankering to get someone to design an adapter that would allow the RS CF wing to be mounted on the back of a NB ... I know ... I know ... I should have got an RS
