chg pads with out that big spreaders stupid. how stupid? it's akin to playing tennis with a 2 iron..

borrow the tool from randy. use it and if u didnt buy one after that, I have to conclude u r not very smart.

said tool also allows u to chg pads as u come off trk with boiling pads

The Mercedes pad spreader is compact and well made, works great.

Anyone have pictures and part numbers for the caliper studs?

My car is currently in at the local porsche dealership getting them done by the motorsport department along with a few other things... As soon as i get the car back, i will post part numbers for the 997.2 gt cars.... They are basically the studs of the 997.2 cup car that we ordered and the parts measured perfect... Just don't want to jump the gun and put part numbers out there before they confirm all is 100% ok...

Also getting the cup car studs for the brake line holders done and all pad wear sensors bridged to avoid changing sensors so often... The rears become brittle and can snap when being pryed off....

2) Put Endless RF650, superior than Castrol SRF. I'm done with SRF after 8 years, must accept a better product.
3) Endless N05U or PFC-08 pads.
4) put GT3 Cup caliper studs at all corners, and wheel studs at all corners.
5) Get the Black Series Motiv Power Bleeder.
6) a tiny metal mallet, and a small phillips screw driver to knock out the pins
7) the traqjunk spring clip.
8) good gloves.
9) please, wash the car before working on it.
10) jack stands, and work one axle at a time, rather than one side at a time.
11) finally, bleed the brakes with every brake pad change, and pump that brake pedal several times before you move the car for the first time.

If the information overwhelms you, you're not ready to do your own brakes. Bring the car to the experts. Don't mess with brakes, tires, wheels.
1. Agreed. Will order. Makes sense as everything cheaper doesn't seem like it would work nearly as well. I have seen Izzone use his ultra deluxe spreader and it looked effortless.
2. I use Motul 660. I'm very pleased with it. Have yet to boil fluid. Then again I don't run my pads to the backing plates
3. Was using PFC-08 and now currently trying Cobalt per 85Gold
4. Agreed. The bolts are a complete pain the in the ****. Doesn't seem like they ever line up right and you could spend way too much time trying to get them in
5. I prefer to use Drums
6-8. Yep
9. My car doesn't get washed. Ever. I will promise to take a hose to it for a spray down at least before going to Drum's house

Everything is reasonable. I just don't like struggling with not having the right tools. Makes a simple job way complicated if you're having to fiddle with things endlessly to make it work. I used to do all this on my motorcycles. Same concept, just way less stuff in the way when you're working.

Craig @ Rennstore has a very good deal on the girodisc spreader. Good enough that captain cheapo (aka deputydog) bought one.

I'm not sure I'm supposed to post that... But I will say that his "shipped" price was better than the best online price (not including shipping) I could find. He's a sponsor too, so that's always nice to throw biz their way.

Yes, your vice grips and rag weren't giving me the warm fuzzies

Look what I found hanging from my front right shock today.
