Default RS in the house!

My pumpkin orange, 2007 GT3 RS arrived last night! Wow, what an amazing looking and sounding machine. Just took it up and down the street, but initial impressions (compared to my 2000 C2 cab) are: doors sound and feel better, more solid. Fit and finish are much better, feels very much tighter in terms of steering, brakes (PCCB), shifter, and suspension. Didn't rev it higher than 4K since it was still cold. A question related to that: the manual says "upon starting, be prepared to drive off - don't let idle to warm up". Why is this? Modern cars don't load up plugs do they? Does it overheat that quickly? Thanks in advance. Can't wait to get plates on it, and take it for an extended spin (being as subtle as it looks, no plates are just begging for a pull-over!).

Congrats!

I had a flashback of the painful anticipation for my Orange 7.1 GT3 RS. Painful, yet delightful.

Congrats on the RS; you're gonna love it!
Orange is sooo nice; post more pics.
To do list: take to redline as often as possible, go on an early drive on a windy road, take to the track, repeat as much as possible & you will be a VERY happy camper!
Oh, & install a muffler bypass, you will not be disappointed!

On the warming up, I usually let the car idle for 3-4 min & drive normally until all fluids are warm.....enjoy!

Congrats one a fantastic car!
Before we go on track first thing in the mornning we always let them run for 15 minutes.
Could it be that it is better to just drive off, intended for the garage queens then just starting them once in a while?

"Be prepared to drive off...dont let idle to warm up"

Translation: Warm up car under load vs. letting it sit
Any car will not properly warm up just idling...you must put it under load (ie driving gently through the gears) to properly warm all fluids. Key is drive gently without full throttle until up to operating temps.

I usually let it idle for less than a minute (long enough for seat belts, garage door etc), then drive less than 4k through my neighborhood (~6 minutes, 25 mph limit). By the time I exit the community, car is usually up to ~175 on both water and oil temps. Then enjoy !

And congrats on a Beautiful car !!

I remember my first two orange RS porsche purchases. Wonderful memories.

you can start and drive your RS just like any other car. These cars can be pounded on.

you will now want to add a sharkwerks bi-pass.

Thanks to all for the kind words and advise. SW bypass was on it when delivered (along with the stock piece). I can only imagine what it sounds like with the valves open if this is what it sounds like with them closed!
