997.1 GT3 Track Rental

997.1 GT3 Track Rental
Seriously, what would someone pay for daily DE rental for a white 997.1 GT3 that is setup with a half cage, harness, racing seat to fit, selectable R6's or R888's for the day, a good alignment and including consumables such as brakes, tires and fuel? The car would be equipped with a traqmate for data provided to the customer and in car video for the customers enjoyment as well as a bit of security to the owner of the car for any mishaps. Transport to the track within the scope would also be provided but this cost would be separate or course. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Everything cost 3 times as much. Tires, pads, etc...... and don't last nearly as long not to mention how much the engine, trans etc... cost to replace.
I don't think anyone would pay it but seriously it would have to be 2500 or so a day.
With fresh tires alone I'd rent it all day long for 2k a weekend and think you were crazy

if you charge $1000, you got it. i will rent it for 30 days this year and i pay you now.
you will be flat out broke.
to break even you need $3000/day
actually more like $5000/day.
one set of R6 is good for no more than 2 days and that's pushing their life.
at least 20% of pads are gone in one day
car will wear out so you need to amortize for that.
fuel? i need at least two full tank.
and you even include transport?
i thought about it. wont work....
but if you should decide to do it at $1000 like you suggested, i will wire $30k immediately for 30 day rental.
SORRY, i was too excited. all i saw was $1000-1200. then i realized it's FFaust not you who said it. damn..... for once i thought i am ahead of the game....
truth is you really need $4000+ to make some money.
and those who are willing to burn $4000 a day usually will just buy a car themselves.

Depends on who u renting to. If it was Mooty minimum $10k/day : ). 3k seems about rt to just cut even. Don't mind renting mine since it sits in garage for months at a time which is real bad ie rubber components seals going bad. Love after a good weekend of track- car engine sounds and feels uncorked and in tune : ). Mike

I paid 1600 for a POS 12 yr old Miata for 2 days at LS....I would suspect that a well perped RS shall fetch $3000-3500 per day..given the cost of consumables..otherwise you would be subscribing to Obamanomics.
If you're looking to make money ..buy a 996 gt3 strip it and rent for 3500/day...hell even mooty might rent from you

I'll rent mine for $10k/day, new R6 everyday, all consumables included, trackside support, deliver car, etc.; mid-atlantic tracks (WG, SP, VIR, NJMP) or Sebring.
Substantial deposit required - $150k.

It is not something one can do personally.
Commercially it is possible but not profitable.
Take an $80k street car, put it in a high risk and wear/tear enviroment for one day.
Factor in:
Pre and post inspections
Brakes
Fluids
Tires
Depreciation
A legal wavier would also need to be drafted that typically has a cost associated.
Basically one would need to get close to the same money that a CUP car would cost for an arrive and drive race day minus crew.
Not many people looking to spend that much for one D.E/track day in a street car.

Or you can just hang out with Randy who just throws you the keys with the comment; "Well I guess my car will get one hell of a workout today :-)"

3k a day? It doesn't cost anywhere near that to run DE for a weekend.
So you are telling me guys like Peter assuming about 30-40 days a year are spending 90-120k a year to track their car. I don't believe that. R6 will last to 20+ HC (or 3 events) if you store them properly between events and have a good alignment. Brake pads are spendy but even a new set a weekend will set you back $450 but lets say $250 for gas, $500 for insurance, good brake fluid (SRF) is good for AT LEAST half a season if not a full one. Get an alignment every 3 events.
And we probably are talking beginner to intermediate level drivers who will use less of everything (except maybe brake pads).
Hoosiers $1600 / 3 events = $533.
Brake Pads $450 / 2 events = $225
Rotors $600 / 3 events = $200
Gas $250
Insurance $500 (from what I've seen for a weekend)
Alignment $400 / 3 events = $133
Oil Change $200 / 3 events = $66
A little over $1800 is my guesstimate for a whole event. And consistent with my expenditures (aside from mods, LOL).
