Trailer Advice
So, I'm addicted, it had to happen. Have my race wheels and R6s. It's worse than herion. Also i just entered the One Lap of America for 2012 (car is 2010 GT3). So I need a trailer.
I have been looking at fully enclosed 8.5x16 v-nose, black (going to add large 2'x3' porsche decals). I am going to have the hight reduced so it will go in my garage. Overall height 7'2'' interior height 5'5''. I know that i'll have to buy some race ramps as the rear door will be too short to load easily.
My question is....how is the weight distribution in a 8.5x16? There will be very little room fore and aft to adjust things. Anyone tried one this size?
Thanks.

Why go 16"? You will save very liitle in milage shortening up the trailer. Within
a very short time you will be wanting more space. Go at least 20'. You will be
happy you did. Ask me how I know...

16 fits better in my garage with my 2 street bikes, 2 dirt bikes and 2 ATVs. Can't leave it outside. Have a big truck to carry stuff in.

A GT3 won't fit in a 8.5x16, but modifications such as removing front and rear bumpers and bumper covers, and changes to the trailer walls will make it work.

Space is the issue at hand. So 16 feet is my only realistic option. So...
A) will it fit!? (it looks to me like it should, unless I can't work my tape measure)
B) will it be balanced for decent tongue weight?
If I had the space to store it I'd buy a trailex with a lift, work bench, awning, fridge, mini bar, stripper pole, flat screen monitor, spa, massage table and BBQ.
Thanks.

Get a proper trailer and store it offsite
Mini storage lot etc
I store mine 5 mins from my house in a locked yard with 24 hour attendant for $125 per month

Ahh, A Lap Puppy welcome to the most intense 8 days of your life Sleep deprivation, Snow, Tornados, Monsoon rains are some of the fun things you might experience on the One Lap. We experienced all of them in 2007. Lap Dog Nick Wong is also running in 2012 and Ford out of CA but he is in a GT-r this year.
Can't help you on the trailer but if you are a Baller you might look at the Aerovault trailer that Pete Brock makes.

There will only be money and time for DE, GT3 and consumables.
Starts a slush fund and hide from wife too.
You can hide the trailer next to my house for a while, but not sure if you concider my hood is safe enough.
Get 20".

What others have said - offsite storage. I have open FL 3110, $84/month. They "stage" it for me when I need it, park it when I drop it off, and check tire pressures.

16' trailer? that's for hauling golf carts.
start at 24', any smaller, you will regret and sell.
i know b/c i sell trailers, not buy choice.
and PJS, you can have first dib on the next trailer.

Not a lap puppy. A lap dog. This will be my second One Lap. Last one was in an M Coupe. It seems to be almost like a GTR club event this year. There is a stock GT3RS in it this year, is it anyone from here?
Maybe a 20 offsite is the way to go then. Its just not easy to go and tinker with it of an evening.
Was talking with the missus about an extension (lol) too.
The 16 has been officially struck from the running.
Thanks.
