It's like the Cayman is the 911 of old, and the 911 is now an Aston Martin. The engine's just in the middle. The question is: when will they start racing a Cayman in the GT ranks? Never?

Really, who does these engine swaps and how many have they done?

What would be considered the base stripper, Cayman or Cayman S?

If these new engines prove to hold up to multiple DE championship floggings, I'd be all over it for a DE only car! Putting power into the Cayman is looking a little easier now! Aside from the Alzen Caymans, I'm surprised more people haven't done the GT3 engine swap. How difficult/expensive can the custom tranny and fab work be? I would speculate the overall cost couldn't be more than a GT3 RS? And the running cost the same.

the only replacement for a 997 GT3 is the 991 GT3...... and thats when they have it running well in the CUP program....

the 991 carrera should never be considered a worth while replacement to a 997 GT3
i do like the new 991 however.
