Ridge Motorsports Park - first drive in 997.2 GT3
This past Saturday, several Vancouverites braved the elements and drove down to Shelton, WA for a trackday at the Ridge Motorsports Park (RMSP). This was my first time there and it's been highly hyped by the track community in the PNWR.
This was my first time there and it's a fantastic track. 16 turns, a few blind corners, good elevation changes and crests. There were enough straights to make the use of more HP.
Few notes: I am hitting 232km/hr - 238 km/hr according to my digital speedo at the end of the straight. GT2 driver was hitting 250 km/hr+. Track was a bit wet in the morning due to rain and snow (yes, snow in the early hours). It was very sunny in parts of the afternoon, but my GoPro decided to run out of batteries unfortunately. I had a good few laps with a 997 GT2 on MPSC and I was able to keep up with him until my tire pressures shot up (I am on RE11's).
Here are some pictures:
Me, Targa Tim, and his friend in 993 TT at the Shelton Inn
Vancouverites packing up after an enjoyable day (note the sunny weather)
Vancouverites pitting for gas and air for tires before journey home. Little did they know they were about to head into a snowstorm(!) Thankfully, everyone was ok. Completely snow covered roads and traffic on I5 was 30mph.
UPDATE: Video is FIXED!

Glad you enjoyed it. I'll have to fix the lighting and the mirror image of the video.
It was snowing at registration. Then raining in the AM. Sunny breaks in the PM and a frickin' snowstorm back to BC!

It was VERY odd and confusing while editing.

That was super strange. My GoPro hangs upside down and I need to edit it. On the first video (mirrored), I fliped it upside down, but could not flip horizontally as well with the software. Experimented with other software and had to flip both ways.
It was VERY odd and confusing while editing.

Thanks for clearing it up. Still a touch dark.

Tom - you were the first one to notify me about the Ridge! Wish you were there to join in the fun. GL to you in your snowmobile race!

Nice pics! You guys in the newer cars are really fast and Stephen you certainly have more track experience/ability than you let on!
Apart from the scary drive home (I'm still having flashbacks spinning out on I5...), it was a great day with great company. Looking forward to the next time. And how about Targa Tim winning the "free/unlimited tack days for a year" prize - lucky guy! (I've posted some of the intercooler data I was working on in the 993turbo section, take a gander if interested, I'm pretty happy).
