Default need info on race pads for 2007 GT3

Gents,
I'm at the track and experiencing pad related fade.
I need a recommendation for front/ rear race pads.
Thanks!

TSC, I've used the Pagid Yellows which are great pads when new. After a few track days, the pedal is not as confidence inspiring, but the car still stops. I've ordered a set of PFC 08 from Apex Performance and hope to have a report on them soon. I run a data system on my car so I can do quantitative comparisons of braking G's, etc. Most importantly, I'll be looking at lap times to see if they improve.

Never had anything bad to say about PFC. Two features I always use to talk about PFC are the the fact you don't have to bed the brakes in. They are ready to go as soon as they are installed. And they will have the same braking performance down to the backing plates.

PFC01
01 is one of the most advanced race compounds in the PFC's arsenal, and has become the standard by which all brake pads are judged. It has good initial bite, with very little torque rise with temperature. At the end of the stop, 01 Compound has less torque scatter for improved modulation with excellent release. 01 Compound has good disc conditioning properties with low wear. 01 Compound is one of PFC’s most popular race compounds and wins more World and National Championships annually than any other brake pad on the market. This is the pad for the majority of our racers who want true performance.

PFC06
This new compound represents the cutting edge of brake pad technology. Extremely long life, but with torque similar to 01, this pad will be the leading choice for endurance racing and a track day pad. In our 2008 win at the 13 Hour at VIR (stock BMW calipers), we used approximately 40% of the front pad and 25% of the rear - that is incredible wear for a capable, full-race pad.

PFC08
08 compound is one of PFC newest and have gained immediate favor in Endurance Sportscar, and GT racing due to its performance in applications where smooth initial bite is a must. 08 have a slight friction rise with temperature, excellent release and modulation characteristics, and very low abraded disc wear. In addition to its considerable performance, 08 wears the longest of all PFC pads and easily matches wear of the other competitors with much higher bite.

I use PFC 06 in my 997 race car, love it!

I always hated the Pagid Yellow and only used them because that what everyone on the forums recommended, and god I wish I never did.

PAGID YELLOW, IS a ENDURANCE PAD!, not meant for 20 min sessions and track days, its meant to last for 1-3+ hour races.

Everyone on the forums loves them because they last so long, but you sacrifice performance for a little longer life.

Track driving and racing is always give and take, better performance usually yields faster wear and the faster you go the faster EVERYTHING wears out.

Do yourself a favor and get some PFC pads, or if you must stick with Pagid, use the BLACKS.

Going from a Pagid Yellow to a PFC 06, it will feel like the hand of god is stopping you and you will have harness bruises from braking.. I LOVE THEM!

We used to run Pagid R29.
PFC double the life, no bedding required, no soft pedal. Same fee 2MM material or new.
I will buy PFC08 from Clark ^^^ until they stop making them

for those who have used the 06 and 08.... what difference did you notice?

(I know what PFC says, but liked to hear what people FELT and saw in wear.)

This is the kind of question that is right up there with "whats the best religion"?? Lots of deeply felt opinions. There isn't a single right answer..

Me??? I liked the combination of Pagid RS29/Yellow and Black in the rear for my street/track 996/GT3.. 996's need a little more bite in the rear than the 997's. Recently switched to Black all around for my track ONLY car.

I'm happy with the Pagid's and for brake fluid used I've Motul, Castrol and more recently SRF. No real opinion - they were all equally good to me. Switch to SRF just because thats what my mechanic liked. I've ever had brake fade or the like with the Pagids and any decent brake fluid. Never a soft pedal.

Ridiculous life with Girodisk slotted rotor and Pagids. I bed them in with a few hot runs as documented. Big deal.

They work as well on day 1 as they do when I eventually replace pads at 40% thickness to save the rotors.. Just for that reason - they still work. Thats just my religion.
