Kidding aside, my hearing is fine, I am sensitive to noise, I hate it. Sharky sounds fine, not annoying at all.

No, Aussie, loud is what causes damage to your ear drums and you never get it back. Jack hammers don't drone either. To me, it's not worth it and just so you guys know, it's louder than any Vegas club I've been to and I've been to quite a few of them cuz the chicks dig it.

spent 20 years djing, and 5 years in car with race exhaust.....now paying the price, but hey, no regrets, was immense fun.
now i'm very careful when exposed to db's.

I have multiple exhausts for my RS.
My favorite all round choice is Sharkwerks bi pass.
You can drive across country comfortably and hit the switch to turn up the fun.
Around the neighbourhood it still maintains respectable sound.
I actually put it back to stock once when i sold my first RS and i couldnt believe how lame it was. Even the stock tips are lame. The stock sound is over muffled at idle and around town it is numb.
The bi pass give a deep sound that is part of the natural GT3 vibe.
I would never go back to stock exhaust. The sharkwerks bi-pass is how it should have came from the factory.
The Sharkwerks also passes most race track sound restrictions. So it is not bad.
Anybody who finds a bi passed GT3 too loud should be in a carrera or a turbo.
One day my roll cage will be out and stock suspension back in. But my sharkwerks will stay. It tame when you need it and fun when you want it.
It gives the car two great personalities.
One for the kid in you and the other for the adult in you.
Without it, it is just bland.

The key distinction is, is the GMG unit that much louder than the SW by-pass at WOT above 5K+RPM which is where the Mezger hits its sweetspot?

I'll sell my RSS pipe for $1,200. I just purchased it a few months ago from another Rennlister for $1,300 or $1,350, can't remember. he sold it to me brand new.

I'm selling my RSS pipe too. Too noisy. What Peter fails to mention is that his commute to work is around 3 minutes. As others have mentioned, sound is subjective. However, everybody comments when I call from that car. Then again, Greek has mentioned my car is noisier than his .2 so maybe the .2's have a little more insulation. Who knows?

Does that mean I bought the wrong car too? I track mine on average one weekend a month. I love the looks and performance. Why do I have to get a different model 911 if I'm not inclined to make it noisier? Everything else about the car is amazing.

I've have RSS and think it is too loud, but stock is too quiet. I wanted to buy a Europipe but made the mistake of telling Stef that I think the by-pass is too loud. Now he won't sell me his exhaust, ha. He said he product is even louder; however, volume is one think, but pitch is another. I think the by-passes have a shriek that is exciting or annoying depending on who you are, how early in the morning it is, how much coffee you've had, and what your commute is (maybe other factors).
Keeping the RSS for now; it is great when in the mood.

Anyone want to sell me their RSS? Would love to put one on my .2 RS. Will be putting an Akra Cup on the 4.0 and moving most of its exhaust to my 6GT3. I love a loud exhaust, cant get enough of them.
