did the body panels in the link help in anyway or were they for a 2008 carrera? could always buy panels from Getty designs widen the front fenders, larger front wheels and take the opportunity to transform the car into a porsche on steroids. Maybe go for the Gmg facelift update kit that they talked/posted about on the 6speed forum. Lots of options avalible.

And yes - a lot of accidents come when we are dialed back in some way and not 200% focused. I assume thats what you mean by "track mode"..

But here's one question: Do you have video?? I think its absolutely critical that you always run with video. yes its a valuable learning tool. But especially when things go wrong everything happen so quickly and your visual and physical memory just isn't accurate. It may take many dozens of plays - especially in slow motion to understand what happened and what you might have done differently.

The video isn't for sharing: Its for you..

If you don't have video. Get it..

If you have video of your incident, watch as many times as you can stomach - and especially in slow motion.
I am sure there is video, but he already has the info. Was goofing around with "I think I am going to slide around the corner". Drifting or (as I am old) power sliding is something better learned without walls. We spend some much time correcting minor slip at speed. Lesson learned. Happy it will work out. Soft damage will be good as new. These cars really are built to be repaired.

Agreed. Still not sure exactly what "hotdogging" is....but if it is drifting, would definitely save that for corners without walls. That's just asking for trouble.

OP: hope you get the car fixed up without too much headache or heartache! What bike is that in your avatar?

Sorry to hear of the crash, but it happens to everyone on the track at some point if you stick with this hobby long enough. Sometimes it's due to driver error, other times to mechanical failure on your car or the cars you share the track with. Don't beat yourself up too badly about it either, even the best drivers take excessive risk, make mistakes or lose concentration. Glad to hear you're ok and that the car is fixable.

The most important aspect is that nothing really happened, that is, the driver is ok. Everything can be replaced, with a little financial pain.

Hard luck man. Glad to hear you're OK, thats the most important thing. Get the car fixed and know that you are not alone; plenty of people who are pretty good drivers have walled their cars. Its part of it. Hopefully your damage is limited to bolt-on parts.

Sorry to hear about this. I know how you feel and then some as I hit the blue bushes at Watkins. In my case it was a total. It was very humbling and I now know what I did wrong - pushing the envelope too far while having some fun.

Nonetheless I have become a better driver as a result and know how to better "listen" to my car and actually I am faster as a result.

Glad you are not hurt and good luck.

When on the track ALOT, it is not "if" it will happen but rather "when" it will happen.......

Good to hear it was only suspension, panel and paint. Factory replacement parts. Bolt on, bolt off stuff. Straight forward.

Great time to switch to euro rear bumper to save weight, loose butt cheeks and have a place to install tow hook without removing license plate.

Sick feeling goes away once repaired.

It is all part of owning a RS porsche and experiencing it to the fullest.

The Cup car boys do it all the time.

Glad you are OK, and glad the damage wasn't too extensive. Now get back on the horse as soon as possible.

not sure if any of these things would help out but I saw them in the classifieds section - they are 997.2 parts but I am sure they can be made to work because I saw some others do it on 6speed an other forums. Just want to try to help - good luck
