ps. The idea behind the early fluid changes is to remove metal and contaminants from the assembly process... Your gearbox would equally benefit from a flush...
this is what I thought. I was expecting them telling me that it was not needed, but didnt expect them to say not recommended (though they were not very clear on why and I was had an incoming call so i didn't press for clarification).
