OEM clubsport rear roll cage not available for .2RS?!
Hi guys,
So I plan to do some upgrades to my .2RS.
My shop had ordered the OEM clubsport rear roll cage through our local Porsche dealer. VISA was charged, but then later found out that it cannot be shipped and sold in Canada.
Shop called some of his known US distributors but the answer is the same, cannot be sold in North America.
He said the only way to get it is to order it directly from Belgium but it will cost $5000+ and this does not make financial sense. I wonder if any North American .2RS or GT3 has this OEM bar installed?
Anyway, I will be looking at RSS or GMG bars. I know both are good products. Any suggestion to me how to pick?
Car for casual track days use only, no racing. Thanks.

FVD or Carnewal sell them. I purchased my front half from FVD.
Personally, i wouldnt weld plates to the floor of your RS for the sake of installing a clubsport bar to be used for casual track days.
I have become a big fan of the GMG bar because is it based on the factory tequipment bar, however it allows both driver and passenger seat to slide all the way back.
It also bolts in and leaves the car "unmolested"..... No welding, no fuss, no muss.

I will do. Pacific Western Performance day at the Ridge some time this summer, and will do 10 days at ORP with the Porsche Train. I am glad to see that you are leaving your comfort zone of Missioin, as that track is brutal on the car.

I have have rear portion of the Euro CS OEM bar in my 997.2 GT3. I looked up Rhonda from FVD, was then referred to FVD HQ, I paid for it in full and had it shipped to Fordahl Motorsports in Seattle, dropped off car for install.
Yes, it was very pricy, but I wanted OEM and found value in it. I live in downtown Vancouver.
