the faux turbo side vents are to confuse the public, it is winter in germany and they tend to test all autos year round, the 5 lugs are probably out of the old parts bin for this car which will see the crusher....
perhaps the retractable wing is a sign that big wing porsche street cars are a thing of the past?

I think its a RS because its a WB car.
Porsche winter tests all of its models, so the ride heigt is for clearance while it test in cold weather.. more about drivetrain and component test in the cold.
I see that the smile air-vent has gotten way bigger, maybe showing that the front radiators have grown.
I also noticed no plastic lip, but hopefully that ius because winter testing again.
I agree, this car will need to be proven on the race track before I decided to drop coin on them.

I would have to agree, this car will have no race testing when it comes out and so far we have heard nothing but speculations. Teamspeed seems to have people working for porsche.
I suspect we will be seeing a number of changes before its finalized. I do hope all this talk of pdk only transmission is just a way of testing the waters to see the public reaction. I imagine it is because porsche is just doing themself in if they do pdk only as I would assume that 90% of the current gt3 crowd will be disappointed if they drop mt. Personaly I think the big wing suits the GT cars & I honestly cannot see them removing the boyracer wing.
Would love to see where they take these 991's interms of trans, design an so on.. They sure have lots of people wondering.

Fellas, i'd say that at best, they are testing a gt3 drive train under the body of a regular carrera with the gt3 front bar for the added cooling... There were earlier spy shots of a car with a fixed wing like the current gt3 too... Don't read too much into the styling cues at this point....

I'd say that is not an RS, not even a GT3. I attended the 991 unveiling this last week and the S has 5 lug wheels, the auto spoiler coming up like that and it looks like a wide body already. Remember about 4 inches longer and if I recall about an inch wider. The S looked like a wide body from the back. The GT3 is said to be a year away. Heck manual transmissions are not coming to the US for another 60 to 90 days.

I had the pleasure of driving the 991 in Quebec at Camp4, on a frozen lake.
Chasis is brilliant, engine note very nice, not a big fan of the electric steering, a little numb. If they employ the same system in the 991 GT3RS, (hopefully not),
I wouldn't trade up, or down depending on your perspective.
If anybody has a chance to attend Camp4 Canada, DO SO, It is a Blast!![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)
I can't post any pictures just yet cause hopefully they will be published, but video may not be an issue.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

lol oh I think you can be certain the price will be raised. Were going to make you pay double for your pdk so porsche has the money to do R&D on the manual gearbox.

Pretty sure the car pictured above is the narrow body. The car pictured in this thread
http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/gt/6...e-911-gt3.html
is the widebody as you can see the additional skirts on the sides.
