It is definitely the release agent + the higher psi.

The first day I had the PSS at the track I got into ABS alot as the ABS controller was sensing a lot of slip it didn't like - I reported on this in another thread. This is very similar to my experience with new R888s - the first 2 sessions I thought I was going to die and had made a massive mistake buying them.

If you can, goto an empty parking lot and slide the car around and burn that crap out of the rubber.

I can guarantee you that when they are scuffed they will not dance around.

What you did by running they that high (psi) and hard on day 1 was you just put the volume upto 12 from a release agent perspective - not good or bad idea but hopefully you are almost done with it.

Seriously, go to a lot a do some drifting for 5 minutes and them run them 33/36 hot - they are great tires.

typically i do a couple of donuts to burn off the labels and the slippery exterior compound.... get some heat in them.

I'm on my second set, no problems what so ever, I like the PSS's very much. I Run 29 & 33. You can reset the dash warning lights, look in the manual!

So, you are still running the Cups in the front? Could that also give you a bit of funkyness?

Not something that I would do without thinking.

Yikes good observation FF, you're asking for trouble mixing up tires like that. Big trouble

If I don't feel comfortable on the first session at 9am. I will stop for the day. I couldn't source the front tires until Monday. I had no choice.

My ride height was originally high. When I lowered the car it thru the alimnt off. The car pulls to the right. Not happy at all!

I'll post GoPro vids later and readjust psi again...

Thanks guys!!

i would have 'flipped' the rear MPSC for another track day

Alignment is key.

Does it pull right on acceleration and slightly left when lifting off?

I thought you get only warning from low pressure? How would winter setting help?

Bad alignment - check
Mixing old and new tires - check
Mixing types of tires - check
Running 44psi cold rear temps - check
Running full tread rears oozing release agent - check
Hitting a cement wall on track out with snap oversteer - Priceless

I'm phoning MasterCard for you right now.

Do you or anybody else have pics of cup tires at their worst stage of life? I guess I could invert them, but I don't think it'll last me more than two sessions. How many track days would you give a new set of cups?

I agree, a perfect recipe for disaster.

Guys, this is my first GT3. I've spent several months putting these cars together and now it's when I'm trying to get my **** together to start having fun with these beasts. Bad start, but I'll correct all of that asap with the help of you guys.

It pulls right idling at any speed and straight or a tab to the left under accel. I'll probably end up making an appointment with Orbit Racing to get this thing straight and balanced for next weekends Chin event @ Homestead.

...... Ok, I just did the erme event at Homestead today and I was very very disappointed with the PSS's. The side walls is even soft to the touch of a finger. I ran three sessions with the cup fronts(soft) and the pss rear's(hard). Yes, it understeered like a bitch, but entry speed sensations into 1, 2, 6, 9, 10 were very sketchy. Luckily I have tons of experience and anticipated every move the car could make under those moments. I went out with 29/31 and came in 34/38. I had to attack every apex to force the car to rotate.

If you look at the pss's now, they don't show wear. They do have a rough surface, but no sign of abuse. IMO, I think I got a bad batch of tires. Production on these pss's were 4811.

What do you guys recommend other than these tires?
What brake pads should I be using? Brake pedal faded enough to push into turns as I trailing in...
Which of these roll cages should I get? or do you guys recommend another brand?

Thanks for your input guys

Now he's complaining that the new tires stick too much even though they supposedly have sidewalls that are too soft to the touch.
