I will be in Fort Myers in two weeks. Can you give me some hints on what to do there with my family. Any car related thing too?

Yep Gavin has a nice shop. I'll be in FM in two weeks as well. I'm an active fly fisher, so for me I'll spend tons of time on the water. I always say, if you're not a beach person, Play golf or a yachtsman there's nothing to do in FM. Although, if you are a shopper then you've got it made. There isn't anything you can't buy in FM or nearby.

A day spent on Sanibel can be fun, ding darling park is fun to canoe around and explore. Beaches on upper captiva are really nice, if you can find a place to park.

FM beach should be in full spring break mode soon. Fun place to eat and party.
A Drive to Naples is worth it, i've seen more sports cars there then anywhere else. A good Porshe dealer there, along with Rolls Royce, Aston, Landrover.. Decent place to eat is Tommy Bahama's, very touristy but okay food.

FM food situation is good, on the beach you hit Doc Fords, Mantazas inn is great with the best conch fritters anywhere, conch chowder is good too. Sit outside near docks, really pretty.

Blue Sushi, one of the best sushi joint around, bring plenty of $$. Next door is the Prawn Broker, good food. Right on MacGregor Blvd.

Weekends provide the biggest flea market I've ever seen, you spend all day there without seeing it all.

Take a ride out to see Pine Island, old florida really means something there. At one end you have St. James city, on the other end is Bookelia. Both are boating towns with tons of canal houses. Good veiws.

Rent a guide/fishing to show you around the Sanibel/ Pine Island water ways. It's worth it, if you like the water. Have them take you to Cabbage Key, for an afternoon.

Look up any local pcar events at sebring.. Should be something.

Take care, have fun.

For car things, I dunno. Plenty of car clubs (hot rods) and shows all the time.

I have a place near Sanibel Causway PM if your bored, maybe we can do something. I'm really busy when I'm in FL, but I'll keep an eye on my computer.

sizzler has a great early bird special:-0 after dinner if you have the energy shuffleboard at the park. My in laws would take people to the Edison/Ford grounds - it was pretty interesting but got old after the 10th time. If the kids are young enough the beaches yield buckets of sharks teeth.
When we went there I would take my bicycle and get 50 miles a day in, play tennis.

The Edison and Ford Winter Estates are cool.

Drive to Naples and take a boat tour through Naples Bay and/or a drive down Gordon Dr. This is truly the 1%.

Spend some time in the pawn shops. Evidently the downturn in the economy has made them goldmines down there.

Spend a day on Sanibel Island. Eat at The Bubble Room.

ahh Gordon Drive, love it there.

I haven't checked out the pawn shops, but that's a good idea.

Swamp buggies in Naples, but not till March 3rd.

Red Sox Spring training, see the new park. Modeled after Fenway Park in Boston.
Minnesota twins there too.

One of the best autocross sites in the entire country.

Right in Fort Myers off of exit 138 and I-75. Buckingham Airfield.

Gulcoastautocrossers.com Next event in next week 3 and 4 of March.
Saturday is a laid back practice, and Sunday is the event.....also laid back.
$ 25 on Saturday, and $30 on Sunday.

1 mile course.....very transitional......last month I hit rev limiter in 997.2 GT3, about 85mph.
The next one coming up should be a bit slower, probably mid 70's for top speed, but still a lot of fun.

Default So far ! So good !

Sun is hot! Beer is cold! Bubble room is weird!!
Cars in Naples are insane. I never saw so much nice car. I understand why some people change car so often . In canada we can drive a long time before we see a ferrari!!!

Red sox thickets are hard to find and it is only training...
