Clarke fastest by far at his home track on slicks and Hoosiers, I think 1:25's?
Sly also fast, I think just a few seconds of our times.
Randy 1:30's I got a couple of 1:30 flat and a 1:29x but only the very last 3 laps of the last session on the first day when we ran without chicane in an overheating car with melted Toyo's I think lap 11+!
There are a few seconds to be found and another few seconds in cool weather.
Next day with chicane we did only 2 seconds, first session I did a mid 1:33 second session only in traffic, Randy ran a bunch of low 1:33's chasing Corvette's in a great session but forgot to put card in Gopro :-(
Not sure what Clarke and Sly ended up running the rest of the day with the chicane included after we left.
Thank you They are big, but I'm getting used to them. I have to give Erik an excuse for going slower, besides the 100lb weight advantege he always has....

Yeah, but we only ran the chicane for 2 sessions. I did not even bother merging data and video, just had traffic and never nailed it. Even more boring than usual.
Here I posted the last 3 laps without chicane. It's a fun track, a lot of off camber. You just have to deal with the 2 slow corners, the rest is fun.

Clarke said a 1:27.67 on slicks with 80 lbs passenger. No chicane configuration.
I still don't buy the NASA record times with Chicane in TTS and TTU.
Anything in the low 1:30s on RA1, low 1:29s on R6 is super fast territory with a 3.8 Aero Beetle.

Remeber it was 98F and slick as snot. I should go take a picture of my tires, they look like a ball of melted rubber. Not good for Toyo's. I did not run Nitto's, but they seem to be even softer and melt even more on hot temp tracks...

Peter,
Can you post pictures of your calipers? I want to see what 15 track days on low grip R-comp tires do to a 3.8 RS.
Clarke,
I'm glad the motor is fine, but I was hoping you could get it rebuilt with a 4.3L 550 Hp kit, so you could have a chance at Winterfest for a DE Cup Sebring trophy.

Lime Rock: TTS:59.396, TTU 59.352 (August)
NJMP Thunder: TTS 1:28.3, TTU 1:25.9 (October)
NJMP Lightning: TTS 1:11.9, TTU 1:09.6 (August)
Watkins Glen: TTS 2:12.536, TTU 2:12.4 (October)
No info on configuration with chicane or not at the Thunder event.
Most of the Mancation Aero Beetles would run TTU, it is better to detune them and run them in TTS (add weight or reduce power, erase Michelin slicks).

With my weight, am I not TTS anyway? what is the HP/lb for TTS VS TTU?
See picture, but mine are darker than Clarkes after numerous track days.
I think the paint did not get backed well as my first track day was 105F Autobahn and 98F Road America.
I think I lost some front brake cooling with the Turbo scoops, they looked different then the Turbo S?? scoops on Trakcar.1
Not sure, but we will check and compare next time at Orbit and add ducting like on Trackar.1 to Trackar.2..

Someting fishy happened to your front calipers

TTS uses a 8.70 weight/power ratio, while TTU uses 5.50.
The 3.8RS with side muffler delete and broken-in run around 425 whp average. They would need to run at 3,550 lbs (including fuel and driver) to make it in TTS, with no chances for slicks (due to the penalty).
I would rather reduce power through a lower rev limiter, than reduce power through an intake restrictor, or even worse adding weight to the car, so the car could run TTS.
The fact that you can run A6, R6, BFG R1S, and some other sticky tires would compensate for the power reduction.
TTU is scary fast, 660Hp Vettes/Vipers, GT2 RS, modified GTR, lightened BMW with big motors, and some factory race cars, I get lucky that locally TTU is not at the top level of preparation, I could run my Fiat in TTS but NASA dumps it straight into TTU.
