Default Sharkwerks street center too loud??/

I was at a DE this weekend at Thunderhill, and was stopped a couple of times for being too loud. I have a .2 GT3 RS with a center exhaust with the black tips. I was surprised to find out that my car registered 105.1 decibels.

Does this sound right to you guys? There must be something wrong with my exhaust because in the same meet, I met someone with a GT3 RS and same bypass and he has never had any issues.
This is very frustrating...

The first time they stopped me, the sport button was on. I then turned it off, and they stopped me again and would not allow me to get back on to the track.

Sport button doesn't make any difference when you're WOT or track mode - not sure why this is such a challenge to understand.

The valves will always open when you're gunning it whether sport button on or off so while this doesn't address your question of whether the bypass is too loud or not, you're pretty much stuck unless you make some changes to your setup.

I'm sure it'll get sorted if you really want to enjoy track time at this particular venue like going back to the stock center muffler.

I would recommend you buy this little number for your track days.

Quick bolt on application.

Or just maybe doing this on certain temperature/days?:

fwiw, i toyed with LS on last session/lap of the day. sport button on, SW bypass, they measured ~101.3 db. i have yet to get meatballed for sound @ TH even with permanent open valves. <knock on wood>

...hoping these noise complaints will force TH to move 60 miles south.

Got hit for 103 and change (right on their borderline, got meat balled but lap counted) on the second lap of a POC TT at TH.

I have a GT3.2 with center bypass and manual valve control (e.g., not affected by engine RPM). I had the valves open. So yes, with effectively straight through and just cats 103-104 seems definitely possible if you are on it. With valves closed I am sure my car is not an issue at TH. I have made 92 db at laguna with valves closed.

One note, I had a failed valve for a bit, in that case while you may think your exhaust valves should be closed when they are not. Fixed now obviously.

The sound ***** at Thill are inconsistent, which is a problem. My friend with a totally stock 997.2 GT3 was flagged for going over the 102db limit. His car is bone stock.
