Default Too loud for Lime Rock??

I will be changing over to an RSS X-pipe on my 2007 GT3 and am wondering if it is going to be too loud for Lime Rock (88db limit). Anyone have any experience with this at Lime Rock or any idea regarding X-pipe db level?

I could keep the Sport button off if that will help.

Thanks.

Tom

I believe that a stock GT3 is close to that sound limit. Change out the center exhaust and you're definitely over that limit. Don't know about the X-pipe, but most likely it's too loud.

Think I am going to put the X-pipe on after my Lime Rock DE. It's really only a 1X per year event for me. Thanks.

you can order custom tips for your exhaust that are bended toward ground. i saw several GTx cars at lime rock with such mod, apparently it helps enough.

Of the track days I've done at LR and NH, I've never seen anyone with a decibel reader.

Same here. Been on track at LRP with loud cars, quiet cars, Cup cars - never seen anyone black flagged for noise. Guess it all depends on the event.

last season i saw 2 cars black flagged for sound at LRP. i also saw a guy with sound meter quite often. they do have some track days with no sound restrictions but those events are rare and usually it is 86 or 89 dB, check your event details.

I did see the re-direct pipes..... I'll check those out.

Last year a friend in a 944 Turbo got black flagged as well as another friend in a GT3.

Oh well.

We have -- many, many times. Some who are astute lift just before passing the fellow with the meter if it's a place one can lift. We've seen them just outside the office toward the end of the front straight which is easy... we've also seen them just at the exit to West Bend -- not so easy for some. If there is a loud car at the event it'll pull them out with the meter and can mess up the day for others... especially guys with the marginal cars. Also conditions dictate levels as well -- still, cloudy low ceiling days are tough where a good breeze from the West/Northwest on a clear day is fairly quiet for surrounding homes as it carries the noise toward the wooded hill.

I bet they get a lot of complaining. The majority of people up there hate that track.

cars i personally saw being 'cracked down' were those who ran there with (sounded like) open pipes - you do not need any meter to notice such an animal along of whole bunched of muffled cars, you can hear it from the paddock just fine.
so as long as car has some mufflers and does not have cats bypass i think it should work fine. will see this season.

Sharkwerks makes a very nice set of exhaust turnaways that I used as-needed over the past couple of years. Here is the direct link: http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=281

LRP has "the man" checking for sound violations, as they are under a court order (from what I remember) and are keen on staying within the limits. There are plenty of drivers who have been black flagged (this was a huge discussion last year prior to the opening of the season) CVR has an "unmuffled day" and I believe it is right before the club race. (club reg has the day listed, end of April ?). You will have to inquire if it is unmuffled. LRP also has test n' tune day, I think at the end of each month. Guess it depends on how often you intend to go...call LRP and find out if you can attend test n' tune days and what the requirements are to join.

I had the RRS-X pipe on my GT3RS and it was too loud for Lime Rock. I was black Flagged for it... I tried without the sport button on and even short shifting....still to loud. I think they got readings of 96-97db. Lime Rock is very strict with the sound levels, I am a Lime Rock Club member and still don't get away with anything.
