Why is it that at a track event, you can be black flagged for a marginally loud exhaust, like a GT3 with a center muffler delete, when some idiot can ride his open pipe harley straight out of the bar at midnight, waking the kids of the single mom who just got them to sleep or the confused senior whose spouse now has to go through the entire nighttime thing again--or even ruin your peaceful vacation at a National Park riding with their "look at me" --"little girl scaring" pipes?

My guess is that the same authorities who are cracking down on the track officials let the loud bikes parade up and down the public streets all day and night.

BTW, not a motorcycle hater--have many bikes, and actually ride them--10,000-20,000 miles per year. Just don't like loud ones--except at the track, where I love them.

it all about local a$$holes that buy cheap properties close to a track and they start litigation as it is 'too loud'.

I have the X-Pipe on my 08 RS. The turnaways will not work on this unit, as the tips are not separate but integral to the bypass - unlike the stock center muffler and the Sharkwerks bypass, both of which have separate tips.

I think the best option is to cap the vacuum pipe from the exhaust solenoid as per Mikymu

This will leave the exhaust flaps permanently closed, whether the sport button is on or off.

Exhaust hackers should be aware the valve trick is effective and also reduces power. And if you try that with an Akrapovic system, on which the side mufflers are NOT designed to accommodate WOT volume of gas flow, you are in for trouble. Expensive trouble. It cost me $4000 in an experiment to appease the filthy dirtbags that live around Laguna Seca. Turnaways would have worked in this case and not cost me power and money.

Posting simply to make folks aware of all sides of this issue.

Savyboy, which Akrapovic system did you go with for your 4.0? How has it turned out for power/noise over the stock exhaust? I have considered one for my 4.0 and just can't find enough user reports on how they are on the 4.0.
