The 6GT3 is Atlas. My Boxster S was Seal. Also, the 4.0 does have the side markers clear now. That was the first thing I did when the car got home (after these pics).
As promised here are pics of the new ride. I picked it up 2 days ago but was doing doc stuff yesterday getting ready for Fridays op. I saw this on the web and convinced my dealer to swap two other cars for it. Really happy with it.
I checked TRAKCAR XPEL Ultimate film at Sebring a few weeks ago, it holds well.
I had 3M in my 04 GT3 and it held well. I had 3M on the 07 RS and it was fine as well. I went with VentureShield (which is a 3M company now, but not the same 3M film I had before) in my Fiat, and it is crap.
I'm removing the entire Venture Shield in the next few days, removing the duct tape from my side skirt and repairing the panel, then a full paint correction, full detailing, and XPEL Technologies film to be installed at my place.
996 GT3 is a great track car, and 4.0RS a sure collectible, but what I like the most is a 3.8 GT3 RS as a daily driver in NJ nonetheless .
Have only done 60 miles since picking up but it is an amazing car for sure. The details in the options means the more you look the more you appreciate them. Wasn't really a yellow car person till I saw it on the web and the more I looked at it the more I loved it. Not as loud as the 4.0 for sure and the 4.0 has noticeably more acceleration. I also think the 4.0 is a more stable car when pushed, but both need more miles on them to fully appreciate. This one gets about the same attention as the 4.0 gets when out and about (good or bad) as you would expect with the color. Kinda fun running round doing errands the last few days in it so I know this will be a keeper for a DD.
The 184K was very negotiable and it certainly helped to have 991 being parked next to it. Now I need to come up with an appropriate plate for it like my other ones.
Will get more pics with the 3 of them once I get the use of both arms after surgery. This one gets parked with the others after tomorrow for the next 8 weeks.
I do hope your sergery goes smoothly, i know what its like as ive just been sitting here for a year now from a rib puncturing my right lung. All I can do is sit here and watch the internet or TV.
I wish you luck my freind. Take care, the yellow car sure is a brighter time to look forward to.
