Non-RS GT3 Track Tires?

The 315/30s are 'only' 25.35 - ie shorter than both potential fronts.
If the 245s work (if), then the 275s should work.
I'm sure daily driving would likely not be an issue, but I would hate to hit a brake zone at speed and fine out otherwise.
Safe way to try it is to do a lot of testing on the street with no one around and space to fix a problem if a problem arises.
Given that 911s generally run higher rear psi, this might help a little with the diameter issue - might.

I went through 3 sets of R6s on my 2010 GT3 last season. I ran 235/35s up front and 315/30s in the rear. Car feels very well balanced with lots of grip, and these have become my primary tires. I also drive about 45 miles to the track on the R6s if the weather is dry. I like MPSC also, but switched to Hoosiers because they have better grip and are cheaper. MPSC are better road tires, but the GT3 has become primarily a track car for me. On the track, I get about the same number of cycles from both the cups and Hoosiers.

yes
- 235/35/19
- section width is 10.2 inches - i.e. 259mm - i.e it looks and is wider than a 'normal' 235 tire
- the actual tread width itself is 9.3 inches or 236mm
- 'they say' optimally you want the rim width from a maximum contact patch perspective to be basically the width of the actual tread to possibly slightly larger BUT this tire does absolutely fit on a stock 8.5 width front rim
I had pro David Empringham drive my car with a set of new R6s (235/315 in 19s) and he said the car was perfect - the speed he took me around Mosport with these tires was insane - 2:32 with me in the car

Go with the 255/35/18 and 315/30/18 R888...they fit great. I used this set up for a long time on my 997 Carrera S...they will fit the GT3 and this is the size I see most around here for R888 on GT3's.

- the 305 and the 315 from the specs are about the same width but the fronts 255 are about 1/2 wider than the 245
The above 2 points (wider front and overall lower car) favor the 255/315 setup. The only factor that may favor the 305 rear tire is that it is a 35 profile tire versus a 30 profile for the 305. I say may because some people may like more sidewall from a feel perspective.
I have had a ride in a 255/315 car and the balance is very good.

r888's blow. waste of money. i have used them as street tires for the past 10k miles because they became solid as granite after 5-6 track days. they look brand new still ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
how in the world would we fit a 275 up front? and what would be the point? its still taller than the 315 rear nitto offers?
and why is no one considering the kumho's? A) they fit B) they are priced right C) they offer grip comparable to a RA1 or better D) they fit E) they are good for around 6 full days F) they fit

he probably meant v710 with no grooves for rain water to escape = no street driving.
there are also kumhos exsta xs but i have no idea what those are.

I am going to run the first couple events on my Pirelli Corsa tires and then when they are toast I'll start sampling some of the "entry" level r-comps (i.e., NOT R6). Hopefully, Nitto will start to fill that demand of larger diameter tires that the 7GT3 crowd needs. I won't hold my breath though
