Huge respect for Sean. Had the pleasure of being instructed by him a few times here in the UK. In the rain he is just epic, witnessed that first hand.

On top of what was mentioned, the rotors move around a bit and knock the pad's/piston's into the calipers so the tap put the pad's back on surface so your ready to go when you need them.

Great post! Thanks

To dig further into it, I found this post on Stop Tech's site a pretty good description of pad knockback: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su.../pad-knockback

Fantastic driving. NGT told me that left foot tap is to keep brakes hot since they are not ABS. If they cool down, rears have tendency to lock-up. I think in these cars you hit brakes really hard and modulate off the brake. Very different from our ABS!

Absolutely correct. 7Cups are non-power assist, dual master cylinder adjustable bias brakes. You have to hit them pretty hard initially, for a split second to get them to bite, then come off them 5%-10% immediately to prevent lockup, then modulate off from there. When you figure out the cadence, you will come to not like power assisted ABS street brakes as much

Lovely stuff. Do you think he found the limit of one corner at 1:47? Whew!

He found the limit in every corner

AND under braking as well, notice the rear lock at about the 2 minute mark making it look easy. Most inexperienced drivers would of panicked and spun or made it look much more dramatic. He's clearly an EXCELLENT DRIVER
