I like HK.

And I still like my old 1911.

I don't like Beretta.

I plan on getting a nice 1911 for my collection. Looking hard at a full size HK .45 for home and fun at the range. I know .45 ammo is more $ but the cost of ammo compared to brake pads, tires, fluids is nothing...LOL

What is it about Beretta you don't like? I asked DeputyDog this too, never got a real answer....I'm a newbie and really want to know. I rented a few Beretta's at the range and they felt and shot well....so I'm confused..help!

Seems to be true....The Glock just doesn't melt into my hand. I bought a G27 but am not digging it at all. I might just sell it and get something that fits better and is smaller in 9mm for concealed carry and in my hotel rooms. I also want to get something full size for the house and range pratice too.

I love love LOVE my HK USP 45! I have one of the first ones ever imported to the US, very low serial number!

Beretta: quality very inconsistent (in my experience), dodgy accuracy (especially on 2nd shot, which IMO is key), very overly mechanically complicated gun IMO for what it is, and they feel like **** in my hand. Again, emphasis is on MY hand, because others like their feel. I do not. I have rathe rlarge hands, and prefer G17, full size HK, for example. Even full size Sig doesn't quite fit me right. So...much of this is subjective, Mike. But I have never liked the complexity of the 92, and sort of got the feel firing a few that for the US military, the low bid won. Know what I mean?

Again, JMHO. What the hell do I know? Buy what YOU like and what feels good in YOUR hand. In the end, the Beretta will make lots of bloody holes in bad guys, which is all that really matters.

Randy, did you blow an engine at Sebring? or is this part of the House of Cheatzzzzzzzzzz lay away plan?

That RSR motor makes it twitch....

I'm in for RR in 2 weeks. If I can place the Coxster within 2 secs of trakcar fast lap, that would place coxster in the Sebring wolf mid pack, so fiat can rest while it gets updated to chase challenge and cup cars.

Thanks VR....you know better than me on these things....I never shot a gun until 1-4-2012....1 month ago...LOL Now I'm trying to learn everything I can. I don't mind spending the extra money on a HK if they are worth it.
My wife took a lady's class and is enjoying this too. She bought a new M&P 9c (9mm) compact. It feel great in my hand, especially the trigger shape.

Mike, you got big hands, but you are shooting small frames Glocks, it won't work. Try a Glock, 20 or 21 "full size". For best ergonomics buy the S&W M&P. I have shot over 300,000 rounds, and I know people who shot maybe ten times as much. I have never seeing a Glock break, never. I also have a 1911, but I also carry a box of spare parts for it. THE BEST GUN IS THE BIGGEST CALIBER YOU CAN HANDLE. I have Glock 20 by my bed, 180gr bullet at 1350FPS. You do the match.

Yup, I am a big fan of Glocks. Carried a Gen 1 G17 duty weapon concealed for years, prior to that a Browning Hi Power and 1911. The Glock was the most reliable, by far. In fact, I still have that very same Gen 1 G17 today, and carry it...often. Also USP 45, P7M13, etc. But for the money Glock is best.

Senna, I got the G27 sub compact to carry...it's not as small as some of the thinner Ruger and Walther 9mm I looked at. The grip does stop right in the middle of my palm and my finger pad doesn't seem to sit comfortably on the glock trigger. I actually dont have really long fingers but fatter/meaty hands. I really do like my wifes M&P 9C trigger...it's a accurate gun too...at least for me.

Here my situation....I don't plan on walking around everywhere concealing a gun, but I travel a lot for work and travel late at night too so at hotels, gas stations ect I want a gun on me. Now with my prosthetic leg and how it's attached to me... I have a belt around my hip that is part of how the leg is held to me...it's kind of bulky and uncomfortable but hey I still walk. So I want a small gun to conceal between my pants and this belt for my prosthetic. To me the Glock is still thick and I keep thinking a thinner Walther might be more comfortable...not really sure. I dont think I could be comfortable with a bigger gun for conceal.

Other than that I think I really want a full size gun for home and range fun. Knowing me this will not be my last or only gun so I might just go buy a few....different brands over the next few months and live with them and see what I really like.

Lots of people also seem to like the new Springfield XDM pistols too.
