Default Removing brake pad sensor wires???

Replacing stock pads on my PCCBs, but don't know how hell to pull the sensor wires from the pads. There is a short red wire that connects both pads, and then a black wire on the inner pad that leads toward the car. On the pads the wires run into a little wire clip thingy, and I thought the wires would easily pull right out. Not so.

I will not use sensors on new pads, so what do I need to do with the free wire once removed from the pads?

Thanks!

If your sensors are still OK, just zap strap them out of the way.

Yep, sensors are fine - never activated.

Pads are fine too actually. I am swapping them now only cause I have 4 day coming up essentially back to back and not sure they would last or all 4 days.

Awesome - thanks guys.

Here is sensor wire. You just zip tie this whole thing, or trim red-sheathed portion, then zip tie? Or no matter?

All my questions notwithstanding....the whole process was painfully easy. And it all went well, aside from dropping my reservoir cap deep into the innards of my car..... Now I need to begin dismantling the plastic bits in the boot in search of it. Ugh.

I did not like how they were dangling around so wires were cut, soldered and moved way away from the strut area.

On my 987S and 997s just folded them back and tie wrapped to appropriate suspension bits - make sure lot of clearance to wheel etc. never an issue.

If you trim the wire you will have to replace the sensor wire if you ever choose to return car to stock (with sensor) in future (eg trade in etc.)

OK, now I am off in search of my damn reservoir lid!

I have removed all the screws holding the plastic covering that surrounds the reservoir, etc, but it is still attached at this point (see photos).

What is this thing? I am pulling and pushing on it in every direction but it appears to have no function, but it is holding the plastic cover in place. WTF?

Definitely not what I wanted to spend my time doing today....

Absolutely, why trim a good sensor. If you had a set of worn ones, trim those and connect the wires...save the good ones.

I don't think he is going to make it. He is planning on going to Daytona. Tough choice.
