Invoice only showed an alignment and four new tires! I wasn't allowed to take any pics, very hush hush. No problems since.
What alerted you to the bearing failure? Was it picked up on a maintenance check, or did something more onerous happen, like a total engine seizure?

Had that on my 2010 RS had to bypass the switch to get the car started. Replaced on warranty.

I was loping along I-20 in Louisiana when I heard a sound like I had run over a cardboard box. All the warning lights came on and the engine stalled. I had it flat bedded home and it cranked back up but was running on 3 cyls. Park Place sent a flat bed three hundred miles after talking to PCNA. About two weeks later Porsche approved the warranty engine. It's run like a top since then.

Coolant hose failure. Otherwise, problem free and a joy to drive

Mine:
Cooler valve (Early cars have it)
O2 sensor
Cracked center muffler (All Ti RS crack on track use)
Cracked side muffler (Only left side, right is fine)
Clutch (All RS go eventually, fixed with 4.0 part#)
Pressure plate (RS Clutch breaks, destroys PP, also fixed with 4.0 part #)

Sometimes the engine hickups and lights come one with SC failure. Shut car down and restart, code gone.

Complete engine failure at 22k miles. No missed shift, rod punched right through the block. Massive amount of money for a new engine, out of warranty.

Make sure 1st gear is not preventing easy shifts into 1st.

The car was purchased with 9k miles. I had a DME performed on the car and it showed no over revs. The car has been meticulously taken car of with 18 track events.

My car is a white 07.1 It had 11.5k when the engine failed. Park Place did the work. Car is CPO'd into '13. I had no over revs in the DME.

Default 997.2 3.8 GT3RS RMS leak

My car has 3000Km, and is leaking oil. P car center asked me to drive in for repair.
Drove to P car center 3 weeks ago, dropped the tranny. Took a lot of photo for Germany, as this is the first 997.2 GT3RS leak in Hong Kong. And need Germany approval, as they need see this first 997.2 GT3RS leak.

Germany told them to clean up the housing, re-install the old seal, then test drive for 45km, then drop the tranny again to check for the leak.

After the test drive, yes it was leaking.

Germany told them not to install the 997.2 RMS, as it is not going to help. Germany told them to install 997 turbo seal instead.

But no parts in HK, so need to wait another week.

Anyone has this experience.

If they have to send to Germany for parts, it can take a while. It's even worse if your GT3 is an earlier car. Sometimes the parts have to be fabricated. The good news for you is Porsche is going to fix your car. You might try calling your country's Porsche representative to ask for some modest compensation (goodwill for brand loyalty and the inconvenience). PCNA did this for me.

RMS is a known issue with these cars. Also watch for the coolant leak problem along the way. Still the best car I ever owned.

For me, my car took 12 weeks to fix but it is better than ever. My parts had to be fabricated in Germany (GT3 997.1)
