Serge - if you are reading this, could you share with us the rough cost to source the Cup rear muffler? Many many thanks!
Best, w
A local shop did some testing with my car comparing a stock exhaust and then added a cup exhaust. The car gained 17HP, but would really benefit from a new flash.

I just went to Dyno new exhaust setup.
Not sure I can live with the Booming noise at low RPM for daily driving, yout I think quieter at wot.

Just pulled 427hp and 296 tq so 7hp more but 8tq less.

Personally I don't like to sacrifice tq even a small amount. Booming noise however is okay as I am old and near deaf in my left ear anyway good luck!

really? Wow good to know. 3 Questions for you

1)This was using the stock final muffler and j pipes that bypass the side mufflers correct?

2)TRAKCAR can you post pics of what your setup looks like??

3)Are you going to be using this setup at winterfest ??

The sound is weird. Sharky bypass: more gas = more noise. Nice noise.
This setup loud from idle, but seems quieter 3000RPM and up.

I will try it out at Winterfest and drive it on the street for a few weeks to see if I can get used to it.
Video of the Dyno pull and printout to follow.

Really stupid question I am sure, but what happens if you run straight pipe?

Makes sense.

At low RPM with sharky the sides are burping most of the sound.....as you add gas less exhaust volmue as a percentage of total is "burped" in the sides

With no sides and big rear the exhaust might be "boomier" at idle but the sound should be linear to WOT.

The key to removing the sides is get a muffler that is tuned to be the sole rear muffler

Here is my Dyno pull, you can't really hear the sound level very well, but ii has a similar sound level to Randy's Acropovic I think.

Bought some ice cream for Rad, while keeping him honest ;-)

drone is no good.
love affair doesn't last long...
my car sounds great above 3000rpms, but drones below. in the last few years (along with djing in my youth) it has caused my ears to ring 24/7. ears can handle the volume at wot, it's the 'booming, all-encompassing basslines' of the drone that is the culprit.
on track there is no drone, street is where low revs are constantly used in traffic stop/go. i am close to putting stock exhaust back on.

i have a M&M centre bypass on my car.

Here is a soundclip.
It's a mix from some car spotters at different times with the standard exhaust and the m&m.
I think it's obvious when the bypass is on the car

see post 75 and 76 of this thread i think there is some FVD in there. Lots of good exhaust science around thanks to izzone and trackcar, mdrms, rsranger, msevobr an well....everyone
Cant wait to see these dynos an hear how trackcars jpipe rig goes at winterfest. I may end up looking into a fvd setup who knows just yet
