Default Decal Reomoval on a GT3RS????

I just purchased a 997.2 RS and was wondering if the decals on the right front and left rear fenders can be removed without damaging the paint. Just wanting to tone down the boy racer look a little (although that may not do much). The car is on its way here, so I haven't actually seen it in person yet, but was just wondering.

I sold a beautiful white GT3 last year and just missed it too much , so decided to pick this one up as a weekend driver. Can't wait until it arrives!

Has anyone removed the decals?

Thanks,

DK

I think you can remove those decals with ease. Goo Gone and a hair dryer should do the trick.

Agree, hair dryer and you may not even need the goo gone. Slightly warm the decal and it should peel right off.

I removed mine easily. No Goo Gone, no hair dryer. I carefully lifted a corner of each decal with my finger nail and peeled them off.

I got sick of them constantly peeling up due to the sharp points that the letters come to. Every time I washed the car, they were coming up on the edges when I would dry the car off. We also had to remove to clear bra the front fender on the passenger side and just finally decided to pull all three off. Decided to leave the lower door graphics on. Much better now.

Exactly why I removed the only decal my car came with - the emblem on the engine lid. Washing/waxing was a PITA with that decal on there, and it looks better off anyway.

have it professionally removed and then have them do the clear bra.

I just used a hair dryer; heat up the decal & slowly peel off a corner then work your way along the decal - very easy & looks waayy better IMHO.
There might be some dirt residue that should easily come off with a wash & wax.

If you are in a sunny warm area and do it out side in the sun. I agree the side ones are a bit much. Don't forget to post pictures :-)

Hair dryer will work every time. Just hope your wife doesn't see you use her hair dryer. That where you will get hurt!!

I used hair dryer for the first time to remove gray stickers off the frame of my ducati. Still don't understand why most people seem to leave those on. So ugly. My girlfriend wondered what the hell I was doing, walking down to the garage with her (expensive) hair dryer. Since she's seen me do this many times and has stopped asking questions....

Also used it to remove stickers on the sun visors. A faint outline remains...but still better than the stickers.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking the decals look sorta cheap.

No decals, they are coming off tomorrow, and soon will paint everything.
