Mostly cars and cafe. Track time will be infrequent, but I do want to track it from time to time - but not a serious car to car competition, probably more DE than anything.

Thanks guys

would be interested to see what seats fit with the rear roll bar?

if you know the owner and the car then the time is right to buy. Especially if it is in your area.

If you can get the car for 90-95k then take it.
If not, walk away and look for .2RS in April for 115k

Unless Mark is planning to compete for Le Grande Concours Award a mechanically perfect $95,000 2010 GT3RS with a juicy OE options list (https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-the-year.html) is a no-brainer

As a former Tennessee Volunteer, I love the orange on about everything. Especially the GT's. This year I traded in my 997S.1 on a GT3.2 non RS. Personally I like the additional features of the .2 and the look of the wing and grill work. I went with the non RS as my GT3 is my daily driver. These bad-boys are so wonderful - it is a challenge making that decision! Wish I could have 10!

I've had both and recently sold my .2. I have enough cash to buy the 997.1, which I just bought, and enough left over to buy a spec boxster. Don't pay over 90 for a 997.1. The .2 was wonderful on the track, but I clobbered everything the track, except for Peter in his .2. Cool at first, but get old quick. .1 is plenty of car for an occasional track day. Get one with a CPO and get a PPI. They are an excellent value and a lot of car for the price. Plus, lug nuts! I hated the center locks. Everything else on the 3.8 was terrific. I love both RS's,. My new, old car, or old new car, or, oh well whatever it is will be in next week. Can't wait to get back in the .1!

I kind of agree with this sentiment. Chances are, once you get the car, you will find you drive it on the track more than you think and this car, for less $, already has the goods on it. Plus, you will worry less about it because it has already been "broken in" for you. I'm not sure the long term market will look so down on the .2 RS. The 4.0 at 50K more is the tough pill to swallow. I think it's like Turbos vs the old GT2. The old GT2 dropped like a tank and was selling for barely more than the turbos. It don't think it devalued the turbos but rather the other way around, people felt that the GT2 was always overpriced. Just my 2c.

If your use will be mostly street, you should buy what ever makes your heart beat a little faster. Buying a car like this is an emotional purchase and you should get what ever moves you!

I purchased an 08 RS in Orange a few months ago and continue to be happy with my car. Whether a .1 or .2, it is way more car than you can use on the street, so get what ever excites you. I had a tough time getting orange because I tend to be pretty conservative, but it is what I loved. I finally decided that I didn't care what anyone else thought, after all, they weren't pitching in.

I agree with John on this one. Also, thanks for the replies everyone - I also agree with the group. Car should be in the low $90s. I do know that the owner has a second home and goes there quite often - might explain the low mileage. From what I understand he only track it 3 times.

Already going to do a PPI and if purchased I will get a CPO from the local dealer.

I haven’t drove any 997.1 GT3s but after owning 997.2 GT3 for almost 2 years, the only place you will enjoy owning a GT3 is the TRACK, period.

Now owing 997.1 or 997.2 I think is important to a professional driver who cares to lap in shorter time.

BMW M5 is the best sedan car in the world in my opinion, it is a formula 1 car in a street body so don’t make a mistake.

For me, I like the look and colors of 997.1 RS, Green and Orange only. 997.2 RS colors I don’t like any color.

Turbo is the best Porsche daily driving super car and you can push it to the limits but not correct with GT3

My statement for all of my friends “No tracks no GT3, get turbo”

Mark

Nicely done...I drive a 2010 M5 and I am on the hunt for a .1RS. I have owned the .1RS and .2RS and now I am heading back to the .1RS!!! Really like the .1RS in black with black wheels. The only car I like in the .2RS is grey and if I got another if would look like Jenks car.

You will be very happy!!!

Excellent Rich,
Nice to know other Porsche fanatics appreciate the older brother in a BMW. As you know in the M mode - the car is brutal and its a 4-door sedan. Should track it once to really push it.

The .1 I am looking at, is in Orange with the black wheels. I agree with you in the 997.1 green or orange and in the 997.2 the grey/black. However I do like on in white without the decals. The is one for sale noted here in LA, extremely optioned with low miles. Thats the one I would like - but for anything over $125K, I have to wait until spring and give up the M. So that is my challenge.

Regards,
Mark
