18 inch wheel fit??
Hey Guys,
I'm thinking a good present to me would be a set of track wheels. I'm investigating if 18 inch wheels will fit. My thought is 18 inch tires will be easier on the pocket book over the 19's. My OEM wheels appear to have about 4/10 of an inch clearance over the PCCB calipers. Are 18's a good decision (track days only)? Will they fit without having to make any modifications?

they should fit as long as they are designed for PCCB cars. If buying new, the retailer should be able to confirm. If buying used, do your homework first.

Yep they fit...see them at the track all the time. You are right next door to CCW (Complete Custom Wheel) in Daytona Beach. Just call John and tell him 9x18 and 12x18 C12 or 14 for 997 GT3.
However if you are driving to the track...with 18"...the only streetable R-Compound tire left are the horrid Toyo R888. For a slick like tire if you trailer you have Hoosier R6 and Khumo V710.
If you drive to the track get 19" because you have more R-Compound streetable tires choices with Michelin Sport Cup, Pirelli Corsa, Pirelli Trofeo, Toyo R888.

We can help you with tires as well from Pirelli (Trofeo), Toyo, Michelin and Hoosier depending on your application.
You can email me as well at james@gmgracing.com for more info, pics and specs.

We manufacture wheels that fit PCCB in 18" as well. Please look at the Profil series wheels on our web site. http://www.fikse.com/2010/profil.html

BBS makes race wheels that fit all Porsche GT cars. I have 18" on my 2010 GT3 with PCCB. I have 2 sets actually and run Hooters R6. Try to get a deal because one set is not enough. AND you must setup your car for the specific tire/wheel combo as switching back to the stock wheel/tire will change your cars handling. So get 2 sets.
BBS are what ALL the Cup teams use. I believe that is what comes on the Cup cars from Porsche. And, yes, they are expensive. +/-$6k/set.
