h'mm just read the article, it seems a little muted...
- 911 cabin, fugly like a panamera, annoying -brake
- electric steering; not quite as good as GT3... but good, a benchmark for the technology
- extra front track and wheelbase good! - takes the 991 towards Cayman levels of handling
- engine good, especially intake sound and sports exhaust, also less road noise...
- handling; incrementally better, although no real mention of the PDCC or PTV+ etc
overall basically no surprises here, the 991 makes the 997 appear "old" but the old girl still has some appeal in a less refined fashion ...

Guys, I'm afraid the 991 will be a killer. Seems like the extended wheelbase and the wider front track helps a lot with the handling.
Though I'm not a big fan of the new cars looks, I am curious to see the next gen GT3's performance

I got some interesting feedback about the 991C2S today from someone who has been driving and racing Porsche's for years.
He loved it. Says its an amazing car. Chassis is the best he's ever driven, and the car still behaves like a 911. Also that the GT3 will have its own chassis. (needs confirmation). And that the electro-mechanical steering was chosen also for link-up with PDCC.
The 9A1 has to be better than the Mezger. Porsche racing cars have not been doing so well for a while, and they need to respond. That means changing things, so invariably people like us will be apprehensive.
I am sure it will be amazing.
Just please not $200K...

Hey P! I was thinking about doing the same thing, but decided to hold out and go for the RS right off the bat. My 997.1 (and yours it looks like) will have to work extra hard to keep up with the new guys... oh the indignation... might start taking weight out of the car.... how much can you realistically pull out from these things anyway?
