Hilarious. I think that was me.

I will post some more pics of the car later. I drove it this weekend at Sebring in five rain sessions and one semi dry. Car feels great; pulls nicely and I have no complains. I did set-up and it was tight.

Thank you everyone for all the well wishes.

When Peter saw the car, he froze for 5 seconds before providing me with two middle fingers. Randy was speechless and was lost in a cloud. I think Peter punched me 15 times and wanted to punch me another 15. It was a great surprise. He can't believe I pulled it off!!

Juan, the worst thing was the email that we got:

Hey guys, should I order a 4.0 intake ? Do you think it is worth it ???

Such an a hole !

Congrats, the car is just amazing, and looks fantastic with those BBS's.

...and your car is just 35Hp under the 3.8RS Aero Beetles, the 3.8 are a full 50Hp under the 4.0RS power figures. A 4.0RS should be 1.5 secs faster than a 3.8RS around Sebring, and 3.5 secs faster than a 997.1 GT3/GT3 RS, it moves the bar to much higher levels.

The Fiat is 7 secs slower than the 3.8 RS around the Nurburgring. At Sebring it is 1.5 secs slower than a stock 3.8 RS and 3 secs slower than a 4.0RS.

Compared to the 997.1 RS, it is a little faster (3 secs at the NRing). Compared to the 997.2 GT3 it is as fast (1 sec faster at the NRing).

So, that's what the media says, and I'm sticking to that truth.

FF to 3:30 to see quatro punto cero get dirty :-)

You don't see many shiney new 4.0's drive through thunderstorms to get to the track and then drive 4 sessions in the pooring rain and hear the owner say; "I'm getting to know her, it hangs the tail out nice and I think she is broken in now" with 600 miles on the odo...

Then he goes to the skidpad where they spray mud to make it nice and slippery to dirty her up good.

A well deserving 4.0 owner

For $50K over what I paid, a 3.8RS will be fine with me.

The difference between 3.8 RS and 3.6RS is actually much bigger. The front aero improvements on high speed cornering were significant from the .1 to .2 GT3. I remember driving Teo's base GT3.2 in Daytona and I was immediately flat out everywhere. In comparison, my GT3.1 was pretty unstable which compelled me to feather a bit more. The same goes for T17; Bishop; HMS1....

hmmmm... I don't think so. On equal tires and setup I bet on the Fiat over the .1 and .2 RS, and maybe even on the 4.0; but I haven't driven a 4.0 so don't know if the 500hp are real or even more as its usual with Porsche.

NRing is something else. That's a big bumpy transition mostly track. The 430 Scud short and soft suspension travel kills it at the NRing.

You guys are horrible on a skid pad, no wonder why the fastest one of the Aero Beetles (Juan) was 10 secs slower at the Sebring Autocross in the rain than the car that took top honor.
