Default Chris Harris leaves EVO

Putting this in the GT forum as most of the CH faithful seem to reside here. The HarrisMonkey to leave EVO for Pistonheads. Not sure what to make of this....

Does this mean he's leaving EVO, or just joining Pistonheads? And I wonder if he'll still contribute to excellence...

Frankly, if I were Meaden, Barker, or Green, I might be okay with him leaving. He was getting most of the plum assignments.

I wonder if this is/will be similar to the short lived Driver's Republic period?

Driver's Republic was an amazing move, unfortunately they were 10 years ahead of their time, no tablets and no easy access to e-content back when they went live.

Now, we have a tablets war, and every household is supposed to have a tablet, easy access to e-content, Driver's Republic time.

Videos > Pictures

I hope PH brings good success to @harrismonkey, but I would fully support him going Solo and building a new type of e-magazine, with an interactive forum, videos, articles, with all the passion and knowledge Harris has that makes him stand out from everybody else.

In regards to the Ferrari ban, Di Montezemolo is an absolute self-centered individual with no vision for passion, but just marketing. Fortunately, people under the commendatore are motivated, passionate and dedicated, and they are building better cars.

In the meantime, there will always be privateers willing to hand the keys to @harrismonkey to test drive the forbidden cars of lust.

Btw - latest evo, published Dec 6, has 991S vs 997 GT3 test driven by Chris H.

Anyone as yet received this tome? Mine I suspect is still over the Atlantic....

....but there is the iPad version...(off to download)

Thread on EVO confirms it: http://community.evo.co.uk/forums/th...807&startRow=0

In particular, Nick Trott's comments: "It's true. Chris will be contributing to PH next year - and while we'll miss him greatly (the traitorous turncoat) we're looking forward to 2012 with one or more new contributors on board."

This sucks - I much prefer print mags and Chris will be sorely missed by this Evo subscriber.
