Pirelli Trofeo or Michelin Sport Cup?

I've ran Corsa's, Trofeo, now on MPSC.
Trofeo's no question have the most grip. A very notable difference, especially compared to the MPSC's I have now.
Pressure 29-30 hot all around. Fronts need a tonne of camber otherwise watch the outer edge disintegrate. I'm running -2.8 on the front and honestly wasn't enough for these tires @ optimum psi. I had to bump psi up to avoid completely cording the outside edge. If you're off on pressure you'll trash them quickly.
The rears I ran @29-30 hot as well with -2.4 camber and they were perfect. Rear grip was off the charts and wear was great.
Overall balance of the car shifted to the rear. So much so that I could no longer get on throttle rotation that I was used to with the Corsa's. I think that balance shift also led to fronts overheating more with more push, thus shortening life even more. Once they overheated a bit they grained very easily and the rubber rolled off the tire.
In retrospect I should have tried to shift balance a bit with the swaybars but I was still learning the car and was avoiding changing too many variables at once.
In terms of wear I believe I got 7 track days, 1 of which was wet. The fronts went fast but the rears easily had another 2-4 days. The rears just had so much grip that it was hard to not push a bit on throttle. The fronts just couldn't take it. If the car had been more balanced, I don't see why both front and rear wouldn't have lasted another 2-4 track days. (I'm and aggressive but smooth driver)
I also remember them being very loud for highway driving. I didn't now just how loud they were until I put the MPSC's on and it was dead quiet (as quiet as a GT3 can be anyway)
I would encourage anyone to try them just be ready to watch pressures and adjust car balance.

Doublej thanks for the report...I drive my car on the street with my stock street tires so going to -2.8 or -3 for the front probably won't work.
Right now I have -2.5 front.
I'm leaning more and more towards the MPSC just because it might work overall better for my situation. Plus the Trofeo in my sizes are hard to come by and if I damage a tire...finding a replacement might be hard...MPSC are in stock in many places.

Just ordered a set of Trofeo's as I had planned on doing quite a bit of tracking with my turbo. I've decided to go the dedicated car route so I won't be needing the Trofeo's.
They are brand new and still wrapped as they were delivered by Fedex. If anyone's interested let me know.

I feel so bad knowing there aren't many 18" r-comp options for the 997 anymore
19" is the new 18", I am planning to go NT01 route with 235/315 combo (which is the closest to keeping the front/rear diameter the same).

Make sure the rear is taller than the front which with those sizes it is not...so you will not be within the front to rear diameter spec and your cars computer will see the fronts spinning fast than the rear...abs issues and psm issues

Sin if you go to the track on those size tires let me know so that I stay out of your way in braking zones when your computer and ABS goes WTF in braking zones

I got a great deal $1900ish for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cups N1 spec from a place in California called Supreme Power. I'm going to get these and try them out for myself. they are much less than Tire Rack prices.
I really want to try out the Pirelli Trofeo but the supply is very limited and if I need to buy another tire it might be hard to find.

Pilot Super Sports, for a car you can drive to the track and back I can't believe how well these things hold up. We put them on Neros M3 and double session ed the car at Roebling 2 days in a row, drifting, having a blast and the tires held up perfect. It's not grippy like a true R compound, but still has more grip than you'd expect and takes the wear and tear amazingly. For a street/DE tire I won't use anything else now.
