Mom kept on asking me "I like to get a ride in your race car to see what all the fuss is about ..."

Great idea. My mom resisted in a big way my attending driving schools when I was young and going to the track. She didn't want to hear about it or see any videos.
However....once I took her for a ride....well, she thinks it's cool now and wants a sports car.
My dad, however, supporter of my hobby and lifelong boater, was sick after one lap. Ha!

My wife refuse to ride in my car on the track - she almost pass out from last ride in my street RS. Mom ... she has to wear her depends

My wife still like to go for rides, despite the big spin we had one time while I was attempting to demostrate how easily the car rotates with the throttle pedal... 
But, she is starting to track the Cayman now and having fun.
